This pub has 40 different ciders and a respectable choice of ales. The bargirl was friendly and happy to recommend different drinks. They do a sampler deal for ciders where you get three thirds of a pint which is good value.
Sadly, the food lets them down. The fish and chips has frozen fish (which they do admit on the board, but is still very poor given they are on the coast) so we went for steak and ale pie and "Dorset" burgers. The pie was mediocre, and the burgers seemed like typical frozen pub burgers to us. Not terrible my any means, but easily our worst meal in Lulworth and the surrounding area.

Went to the Castle Inn Restaurant for an evening meal and a general chill evening. Loved it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you like cider, then this is the place to be. I have never seen so many, and all very reasonably priced. This is a must to see and they are dog friendly, and that's a plus. This pub goes back to good old values and we loved it. Well don The castle Inn.

Very good pub grub at reasonable prices. Wine choice could be improved though, especially the rose - zinfandel? yeuk! Far too sweet - possibly stock a dry rose too?
Excellent choice of ciders and a lovely back garden too.

Had an evening here 20/6/14. Not impressed. Been here lots of time before but it seems to get less appealing each time we return. Food took 1hr 15mins to arrive. Think I paid £8.95 for ham, egg & chips which was not worth it. Dogs are welcome to the point of obsession. That's probably why the drunk lady sat next to us with her yap, yap, yap dog was not ejected. I would suggest the landlord concentrate on the humans who pay his bills.

Nice place to eat and drink, food is especially good and good value too. For those of the taller stature beware of low beams, this place was built in the way back times, but this all adds to its charm. This is also an Inn though I have never stayed in it, but from reports rooms are very good.
If you like chess there is a BIG outside chess set to keep you happy, also a pleasant beer garden to the rear.
