Description: What is there to say about The Who'd a Thought It? The building is a restored sixteenth century pub, no doubt the site of countless parties and celebrations over the centuries, and is now a luxurious Champagne bar, restaurant and hotel. At the Whody, you can expect to have a truly unique and memorable experience whether you join us for the night, a meal or just a drink. Our restaurant, run by Master Chef finalist Tobias Caira, offers Classical English dishes, carefully prepared with local ingredients, plenty of attention to detail and the characteristic Whody flair. As a hotel, we're chock full of character and charm - each suite boasts its own singular personality. Whether you're looking for classical romantic elegance or stylish contemporary themes, we can provide something you won't find anywhere else. No matter your preference, your room will be fitted with flat screen TVs, hot drink-making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Select rooms also offer four-poster beds, jacuzzi baths, hot tubs and complementary champagne from our outstandingly well-stocked stores.

“excellant dinner”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

The food in this restaurant really is first class. It would not be out of place in the better london restaurants. I had dinner and will go back for lunch and dinner whenever I can

“A Complete disaster”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

We went to this "restaurant" on 19.12.12 and our overriding impression is that this a VERY overpriced and user UNFRIENDLY place. I would not even call it a restaurant as it is actually a country pub with the most diabolical disguise. The gaudy/tacky decor is the most offensive i have ever experienced in 30 plus years of eating out.
The food is massively overpriced, and NOT value for money that we are all seeking.
On the run up to Christmas we could not believe we were the only people there at 20.00 in the evening. Every one else in the county must have known something we DID NOT.
So NEVER AGAIN, and our message to friends and relatives is don't risk it, you wil be dissappointed.

I think this place is amazing! Food is out of this world! Homely but with a michelin star touch Some people expect to much and can't read menus properly but I can assure you it's worth every penny and perfectly up to scratch! Sunday roasts r amazing for £9 with a nice al le cart touch! The desserts r to die for! With a fantastic selection of wine and champaign your sure to feel special! The decor is sheek with a traditional pub feel but also a tasteful but different design in resturant! 10/10

“Quirky pleasant evening alternative dining experience”
Reviewed November 23, 2012 via mobile

Web there with a friend had oysters and champagne to start which were lovely. We also shared a squid starter which was good too. I had linguinie with lobster and crayfish which was very nice but a bit over priced for what it was. My friend had pheasant and partridge which was cooked very nicely. Chocolate fondant was divine!!! Really pleasant evening in a different setting, would be a lovely place for a drink in the summer. £100 for two with champagne wine and gand t's so not too bad all in all. Definately go back.

“Great food!”
Reviewed September 28, 2012 via mobile

We only ate here at the Who'd a thought it, but our visit was splendid.
The welcome was lovely, and although our booking hadn't been confirmed in their register, we were still dealt with splendidly.
The oysters were great, as was the maincoiurse of fillet steak and rump of lamb. The service from Lisa was great.
The sticky toffe pudding was the best we've ever tasted!
Unfortunately the coffee left alot to be desired. We'd eat here again, and would look into the possibility of staying the night.
Overall a good eating establishment.
