We stayed for a week in this hotel just before the winter close-down. It was a great time. Make sure to choose the room you want because there are a lo of different rooms. Bigger/smaller, with a balcony or private terrace, less or more luxure, quiet or more lively.
In the spa, we had the massage twice just because it was so very good and, of course, used the hamman, jacusi and sauna.
We had diner every evening in the restaurant and, because of the winter close-don, we could order what we wanted to eat and the staff prepared the food for us.
Wines are ecellent, breakfast is good.
The most thrilling thing was the drive upp-hill the first evening in the dark (-;
For the rest, the stay was very relaxing.

Room Tip: Check all the different rooms on the internet; make sure you book the room you want.

This hotel offers the comfort of relaxation in the mountains and great SPA treatments. As well as being relatively centrally positioned to all east side attractions in Crete. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Only minus is the frequency of room cleaning. be sure to try their Dakos salad and buy some of their home made olive oil if u can, it's delicious! Have a pleasant stay!

Wa stayed 2 nights in the room called "thalia house" which disapointed us a lot for many reasons : first, the room has no windows, during the morning the smell coming from the bathroom is quite annoying. And the main trouble : no soundproofing at all with the room above us making our wake up very early ! It is true that the view and the restaurant are very nice , it is true as well that we cant juge the other room but at the end we find this place overquoted !

Room Tip: Do not choose thalia room !!

This beautiful hotel is perfect to relax. My partner and I spent 2 nights and the second day we didn't leave the premises at all!by the small but beautiful pool area during the day,at the jacuzzi wih a bottle of wine at night at the beautiful spa area...
Although we definitely look forward to going again, there where some things that struck me as very odd...
In fact, this hotel could be called "all exclusive".
I booked a suite online and 2 days before our visit I called to ask if there was one with a view.they told me that they could not guarantee that, because it was a matter of availability.i explained that this was the reason i was calling and asked how come they didn't know that. They told me that this was something the "booking department" was deanlig with and they could not guarantee that.
When we arrived we realized that the stuff consisted of around 5 people who were doing a little bit of everything.

On the other hand, duriig our stay all the stuff was excellent (except for a weird guy, giorgos).

There was no cleaning of the room during our stay and ther was a price list for the cleaning services...this only happens in youth hostels and that's why they're cheap!
We only stayed for two nights but i hate the wet towels on the bathroom floor and we ran out of toilet paper the last day...
I hope they change their policy,)because it really is a shame for such a nice hotel to be disrespectful to the clients...

There restaurant on the terrace is recommended not really because of the food (it was a little tourist-oriented,the house wine is terrible and the wine list very poor and overpriced),but because of the nice view and atmosphere.

The breakfast was nice with fresh omelet and pastries

The hotel used to be a lovely old Cretan village and the owners have done a magnificent job restoring it but also providing a touch of glamour that made our stay unforgettable.
All the small houses are made of stone with wood work at the details.
The bed ..at least at our suite..was designed for royals!!!
We loved the small pool...the spa which was modern but sticking to the traditional layout of the hotel...and the breakfast which consisted of local products.
The staff were really kind and helpful...and the hotels location gave us the chance to explore the surrounding area.
We just wish to have the chance to revisit it.

We stayed here in Crete and really enjoyed it. The hotel itself was quite comfortable and surrounded by beautiful mountains and rugged greenery with sea views. There was a small pool (slightly chlorinated too much), but great place to chill out and cool off. They serve great snacks and drinks and excellent food in the restaurant. Kiki and her mum (the chef) who look after the restaurant were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Nearby are lovely places to explore and the hotel is happy to provide information about where to go etc. In the surrounding village are the locals which gives you an authentic feeling for the place. My only negative comment was that our room wasn't cleaned (not sure why) and the list of charges in the room are slightly confusing.

We stayed for 2 nights, the place is uniquely nice with traditional feeling. Everything is looked after with detail and luxury. We had an amazing weekend. The hotel is located at the top of a traditional village (Sfaka), overlooking the whole area with amazing views. Restaurant has excellent food and in breakfast they offer fresh local products, freshly made bakeries or pastries of excellent quality. The host is very friendly and will help you with everything you will need. Excellent choice.
