“Great for a relaxing few days”
Reviewed January 31, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

I stayed at Janet's cottage for 3 nights over New Year and it was the perfect place to get away from it all and relax for a few days. It may be a small cottage but it is nice a cosy and for 4 people it has exactly what you need. The electric heating is more than enough to keep the place nice and warm and the kitchen has enough facilities to be able to cook for a family.
I'd certainly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

“Fabulous rural getaway”

Three friends and I had a fantastic time at Westfields exploring the Peak District; this was the ideal base for us.

The chalet is in the midst of a farm with spectacular scenery all around and it was quiet and relaxing. Janet, the owner, was very friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome.

A car is essential if you're staying here as it really is rural, which was a bonus for us as we were able to have lovely long breakfasts outside with birds singing and the occasional cow mooing and felt completely detached from city life for a few days! Bliss! The chalet was tidy and excellent value for money and I would certainly recommend it.

I would recommend this to anyone looking

“Snow in the Peaks”
Reviewed June 2, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Returned to Derbyshire to see friends again ,, As usual we stayed at Westfields ,, Would not stay anywhere else whilst in Derbyshire ..A usual the accomodation was clean, tidy and even though there was snow on the ground when we got there nice and warm .. I wanted to wnte this as if you are thinking of visiting the Peaks in the snow it is brilliant .. We went out after it snowed most of the night and the roads were clear ..even up in the High Peaks ,, The scenery was even more spectactual than normal .. Janet, as usual made us very welcome and offered additional help should we got snowed in ,,, Unfortunately we were able to go home atthe end of our stay .... Once again Thanks to Janet for providing such pleasant accomodation and also for directing us to the local retailer where we bought all our flour for breaadmaking ..

“Nice view, shame about the house”
Reviewed March 8, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

This small and cosy cottage is situated in a delightful spot. However, it is quite grubby (the cooker hood, above the hob, was thick with grease and I doubt the filter had been changed in months). The description was also misleading. It was advertised as having a cooker and central heating - it had neither. It had an electric hob and a micro-wave and oil-filled electric heaters. The entrance to the bathroom was through the main bedroom which meant that, at night, our friends had to walk through our room. Not at all satisfactory and we wouldn't have booked if that had been made clear in the description. The fridge was miniscule and there was nowhere safe to park away from farm vehicles on the road
