We spent two nights at Minna-Mosfell last week, and were quite comfortable. The hosts are delightful--so helpful with advice on what to do and see, providing anything you might need, and supplying you with fresh-baked bread/treats twice a day! Gudrun spent so much time chatting with us and answering our questions; even though our visit was short, we feel like we learned a lot about life in Iceland through talking with her. The setting is idyllic, and we wished we had been able to stay longer to do more walking right in the local area. It is also close to Reykjavik, so if you want more city activities you aren't far away. The shared bath wasn't a problem, even with all three rooms full (the sink in the room helps with that), and everything was spotlessly clean. If you want to visit Iceland, this is a great place to stay!

Several of my friends and I stayed at Minna-Mosfell in the early part of the year. Such a lovely home with lovely people. The horses on the property made a wonderful touch and the northern lights were amazing.

I would certainly come back again and I am already planning to stay here again.

I don't often write reviews, but this guest house really is a gem. Perhaps a few other places also have beautiful valley locations close to amenities, spacious comfortable rooms with great views, use of a kitchen and a dining/sitting area and a hot tub - I don't know - but I can't imagine a more helpful and welcoming hostess than Gudrun. Her fresh homemade bread was delicious, as were the cakes that appeared every afternoon. She went out of our way to help us and other guests every day with our planning to make sure we each got the most out of our trip. She and her husband made our little boy feel right at home with toys, games and the freedom to explore the farm and play with the children, dog and ponies. A fantastic find and a truly relaxing stay.

We stayed here last month as two couples. We arrived mid afternoon and we greeted by the very friendly owners and some of their family. We were shown to our rooms and thought we would have a fight on our hands to get the room with the best view - it turns out that they all have an amazing view!! The kitchen was really welcome as we were able to make a cup of tea and have some much needed down time before our next outing - the cake was an extra special bonus! The rooms were spacious and immaculate.

Breakfast was ready for us in the kitchen even though we had to leave early to catch our flight home - it was amazing - freshly made bread etc.

The hot tub was empty when we had arrived and therefore I assumed that it was not working/out of use - how wrong I was! It was full of lovely hot spring water by the time we got back from dinner and we all got straight in - what a way to spend our last night in Iceland!

I look forward to returning on our next trip to Iceland next summer!

Room Tip: Any of them!

My wife and I stayed at the end of April 2014. We rented a car from the airport (recommendation: rent or buy an Iceland sim card, they sell them at the duty free catalogue in the airplane, this way you can have data that you can use for navigation. 1GB is approx 10 USD).

We found the place effortleslly because it was tagged in Google Maps, however there were a lot of signs too so it is difficult to miss it.

It was low season, so we had all the second floor only to ourselves. Hosts were extremely helpful and they made our experience incredible. We were hunting for Auroras so they helped us with many tips.

Because of the airport strike, we had to stay 1 extra day. Our hosts made this an incredible experience - they provided us with a lot of materials on what more was there to see, so we took a full advantage of this extra day too.

Just returned from a stay at Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse, it was wonderful. Each morning after our breakfast of home made breads and anything else we wanted the Mrs. would tell us about an exciting site seeing drive with suggestions on what to do. We had to leave a little early but our last drive was exciting with lots of twists and turns and spectacular views. We would definitely return to this quaint guesthouse for more adventures in the spectacular country of Iceland.

Gudrun and Valur were kind enough to "take us in" on a cold, windy April evening (cold even for Alaskans). They had been closed for a week doing renovations, but bustled around for an hour and readied a room for us.
Lovely hosts - helpful, not hovering. Immaculate rooms and accommodations. Scrumptious breakfast including lava bread. Forget Lonely Planet - Gudrun is the best travel guide. Listen to her.......love to see this farm is summer - and someday I hope to!
