We stayed here on our first couple of nights in Japan. Found our way here from Namba station from the airport relatively easily ( a little help from the very helpful locals) and welcomed by the friendly staff. On arrival offered the use of the phone to make a couple of calls home and wifi in the lounge/reception. Great location - easy walk to a variety of restaurants, markets and attractions.

Doutonbori hotel Front staff Ishii
We just stayed the one night before flying home. The hotel was in a great location literally 3 minutes from a train station and close to dozens of shops and places to eat. The staff were friendly and gave us excellent advice about getting to sites and the best way to the airport. They were able to sell us an all day rail pass and aquarium tickets in one.
The rooms were clean and comfortable although fairly small with a small bathroom. Breakfast was very era ably priced particularly if you bought your tickets the night before, included Japanese breakfast but also cereal, toast, fruit, bacon and eggs.

I'll preface my review with this, I've been told I can be snobby and more often than not only stay at major chains so choosing the Dotonbori Hotel was a major change for me. I'm glad I chose this hotel for my stay in Osaka. It's within walking distance of the Namba train station which can get you pretty much anywhere you want to go in the Osaka region. The hotel staff was amazing and very helpful. The room was smaller than I expected but had all the necessities you would expect and it was clean, a major factor for when I stay somewhere. You also get free Wi-Fi which made keeping in touch with family/friends a breeze.

My wife and I added two more nights to our stay because the hotel is so awesome. Location is fantastic; about 3 small blocks from Namba subway station, central to all the night life, restaurants everywhere. Free cooking demonstration in lobby which included free food and beer (Oden was being demonstrated first night we arrived). Free bicycle rentals, internet, coffee and tea in lobby. Rooms are very comfortable. So many extras!

We stayed for a night in Osaka during a 10-day trip to Japan. I am so glad we booked this hotel, because it was excellent! A few points on why:
- You cannot beat the location - literally around the corner from JR Namba! (Really easy to find, what with the giant face statues out the front)
- The people working at the front desk are great, really friendly and helpful.
- The food for breakfast was so good (really good options whether you prefer Japanese or Western style).
- Although it is in such a popular nighttime area, we couldn't hear any noise in our room at night.
- The rooms are really comfortable and warm, and there are tons of amenities. Coin operated washer/driers, vending machines, comics, free bicycle hire, internet... The info book in the room is really well put together, too.
- Amazing value for money.
We would like to visit Osaka eventually and when we do, we will definitely stay at this hotel again!
