Stayed one night combined with 2 day training in this hotel. Service is close to perfect. Large lobby which well decorated. Stayed in single room and no complains. Be aware roomsize is smaller than western brand hotel. Bathroom though is well sized

Room tip: Single room can be experienced as small for several foreign visitors

My Japanese colleagues booked this hotel as the only available one due to a popular concert in town filling up the hotels.
It is a basic hotel (with western size rooms). My room was in need of a remodel, the beds were hard and uncomfortable, and one could hear the goings on in the adjacent room.
Can't say that I would look forward to returning there, but I don't know much about the other choices available.

This hotel is located about 10 mins taxi from the Nagoya station - I stayed in the 14th floor and the room is beautifully renovated and new. There is the original famous Fried Chicken Wings stall - Ma Chan just located behind the hotel. As we had to leave the hotel early to catch the 8am flight - the front office can pre book the limousine airport transfers which cost only 1000 yen each. They even pre-packed the breakfast for you to bring along. Great service great hotel and wish that we can enjoy the full breakfast at the hotel which looks really wonderful next time!

the hotel itself is not bad, just very dated and in need of a good refresh. the rooms are very small and the amenities are very limited. I was given a tiny ironing board and an iron circa. 1900 when asked for one. The location is ok. I guess it depends what you like. Sakae is very lively butit is not my cup of tea.

All in all, this is a Tokyu hotel and I have stayed a numerous occasion in hotels of the same group. It really feels like this is the tired one of the family.

Would I recommend? Yes, but if you have other choices, I would consider them first.

I've stayed in the Tokyu hotel many times. Here's the good:

- Location. It's in Sakae so a very short walk to the main shopping areas (also very close to the female entertainment area if your in to that kind of thing)
- If you're into running, it's only a couple of miles from Nagoya castle which is nice to run around in the early morning.
- They have a chef who'll make you some nice eggs for you if you want.
- the rooms have been refurbished (apart from the bathrooms).
- there is a Starbucks on the way to the subway.

Heres the bad:

- The toilets in the rooms are seriously dated. But they appear to be some prefabricated plastic cubicle that's I guess is difficult to refurb.
- its a 5 minute walk to the subway, if it's raining or if it's hot (summer time) then its not the best walk in the morning.
- they have Internet via a cable, but no wi-fi in the room.
- the only English tv channel is CNN so make sure you bring your own movies with you to watch during jetleg hours.
