We arrived one late evening and had checked in to another hotel which was shockingly bad. Not wanting to stay in that hotel we decided to check out intercontinental. The staff who attended to us is Mr. Yu Kitano(sorry if I mispelt. We lost that card which we wrote down the names) who speaks fluent English and his colleague who just joined the hotel. As we still have to cancel our booking at the other hotel, he said he could try and help us to reserve the room for that night if we do come back.

So helpful and willing to go an extra mile to help us.

We were very happy to stay at intercontinental as the service was good. The room size was good and it was a quiet hotel despite many tourists staying for the Pokemon convention. Our stay was peaceful and we didn’t have any rowdy neighbours.

Breakfast at Interconti was also top notch. I especially enjoyed the japanese breakfast variety. My husband loves the pastries. However when it gets busy you just have to wait abit longer for your coffee. I observe that there is not enough staff on the service floor. Perhaps to ease the coffee chore, the hotel could set up a self service corner.

Many of the staff can speak decent amount of English compared to the other hotels.

Besides that the amenities are great. I went to the gym and usage is free. Do you know that you have to pay at other hotels? You only need to pay a small fee if you want to use the swimming pool.

I strongly recommend Intercontinental and if you are looking for 5 star hotel.

Last but not the very least, we would like to thank Mr Yu Kitano and his new colleague again for helping us. Thanks heaps!

The location is close to the cruise terminal, extensive shopping center and rail station. There is an inexpensive direct bus service from Narita Airport.
The views from the large rooms are wonderful. The club is fantastic with full breakfast and assortment of predominately French items in the evening.
The hotel is a value. It is a good location for cruise, business and proximity to central Tokyo via rail.
The second largest budha is a short train ride away.

Room tip: All views are good: Port, City or Sea.

I liked the ambience of this hotel. Whilst not super luxurious, it has a buzz and atmosphere which we found pleasing.
Whilst the rooms are fairly standard, it’s the views on either side of the building which are outstanding.
Another aspect we liked was the Lounge and Bar Marine Blue on the 2nd floor. After returning from our days out we retreated to this area which again has lovely views.
I’m not a fan of buffet dining but their Ocean Terrace Buffet Restaurant is high level buffet dining. It was hard to fault.
Their concierges are very competent and reserved us a table at a great Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown called Jogenro - our choice because they’d never heard of it. (The menu has English translations). The Bell Boy had to show the taxi driver where it was and where to drop us off because Chinatown is car free.
I wasn’t aware of this until leaving but there’s a good limousine bus service to and from the hotel from both Haneda and Narita Airports. It makes up for the inconvenience of not having a train station nearby.
The hotel also owns a tour boat which leaves at the jetty at the back of the hotel. Whilst the tour is a pleasant way to spend 40 minutes, it’s commentary is in Japanese.
Location wise the hotel is nearby to a lot of shopping malls and restaurants but inevitably you’ll need to take a few taxis which are plentiful at the hotel and in Yokohama.
Highly recommended.

Room tip: Both city and bayside rooms have great views.

Very handy to overseas cruise terminal, able to walk there with our luggage, lovely waterfront with amusement park opposite. Only hiccup was our room and bathroom had very strong cigarette smell so they very quickly changed shower curtain on our request.

Been to the Intercon multiple times and it has not failed to please. The rooms are spacious and well kept. The view of the sea is beautiful and if you opt for the city view you will see the picturesque Ferris Wheel. The breakfast spread is amazing and hard not to be wowed. The only down side is that it can get pretty crowded if there is a big event at the convention centre next door. The access to Queens is directly from the 2nd floor and lots of food options nearby. Very pleased.

Room tip: Take your pick of city or sea view
