Every time I come to stay in Kamata, I don't seem to get the luck of staying here.
Finally got the chance to stay here. It looked and the way it has been reviewed by others was pretty much bang on. Thank you, to all the other people that has reviewed this place.
The staff here are friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Their knowledge of the English language was pretty good.
The hotel is literally a five minute walk away from Kamata station. It is a very nice hotel, with a nice Italian restaurant, at an affordable price to stay.
I had the smoking room. People have complained about the smell in the halls and their rooms, and I can fully understand, what people are talking about. But I did not experience that, while I was here. I usually crack open the window a bit, when I have a cigarette in my room anyways. There is also a bottle of spray to help deodorize your room to help cut down on the smell.
The layout of the room was nice and enough room for my bags and clothes to hang.
The bathroom is a standard size for Japan standards and it worked fine for me. The shower has an adjustable handle for height. It didn't go high enough for me, but it went up high enough, so it wasn't an inconvenience. I stand at 6'-2" (188cm) and there was enough ceiling space for me to stand.
The bed was comfortable and the room has all the amenities that you need, for your stay. You can also get a few items from the lobby. Different bath gels, skin creams, tea, coffee, to take up to your room. The cleaning staff do a good job on making sure your room is ready, after you get back from your day trekking around Japan.
There is a neat arcade/ bowling alley/ batting cages, across the street from the hotel.
Also in the area are a lot of food place, bars, pubs to enjoy some food and drink at a reasonable price. You may find at night, that ladies will walk up to you and ask if you would like a massage. They are not in front of the hotel but just down the street. You just politely decline and they will leave you alone. If you're in a group or as a couple, they will not ask. This is not a problem to be honest but just letting you know. The area is very safe.
Checkout time is for 10am and you can pay $20 dollars extra, to check out for 11am.
To me it was worth it. Give you more time to sleep and get things ready, before you have to leave. The staff, at the front desk, was even nice enough, to hold onto my bags, at no cost, so I can get some errands done, before I had to depart to the airport.
I stayed here for over a week and I really enjoyed my stay here.
I would like to stay here again, if I get the opportunity to do so.
