My family arrived at this lovely place very late after a delayed flight from Australia.
It was a great way to feel like we had arrived in Japan! Our family room had a row of four futons on the floor, and we slept really well on them. In the morning the futons became couches, giving us plenty of room.
The bathroom was great once we started bathing the Japanese way - using the detachable shower to wash on a stool on the floor then hopping in the deep bath once were clean. The kids loved the toilet buttons - hours of fun!
It’s a really fascinating area, with lots of lovely little back streets to explore. Yanaka Cemetery is a serene spot, and the walk to Ueno Park took us through interesting areas past lots of temples.
There’s good food options in every direction. We had a delicious Japanese breakfast at Hagiso and yummy food and drinks cooked by an elderly couple in a tiny bar not far from the Annex. The kids were happy with takeaways from the convenience store - there are many.
It’s well served by transport and very easy to get to from Narita airport via the Keisei Skyliner to Nippori.
Highly recommended.

This was a great area to return to after a day out in the sometimes overwhelming parts of Tokyo, such as Shibuya or Akibahara.
A special thank you to the thoughtful hotel staff member who rendered first aid to shoes that had gotten soaked given a stubborn traveler's decision to brace typhoon weather, so as not to miss anything during his brief stay in this remarkable city. This unsolicited act of kindness speaks for the hospitality to be encountered at this hotel.

Not what you would think of as a traditional ryokan on the outside, it is a concrete building typical of so much modern Japanese architecture. The rooms, however are very nice tatami mat and futon sleeping arrangement with small bath.

The rooms are clean, staff is very helpful, they do have laundry machine, good wifi and speak English.

The location is great, near Nippori station on Yamanote line and just one block from Chiyoda subway. Plenty of mom & pop traditional restaurants nearby, however many close around 8 - 10, (most are tourist-friendly). 7-11 right across the street with an international ATM, morning coffee, evening snacks & beer.

The neighborhood walking up to Nippori station has plenty of traditional shops and architecture (apparently wasn't bombed during the war). The shops range from kimonos to drug stores, to anything kawaii cat merchandise.

All in all a perfect place to stay while visiting Tokyo, great neighborhood, great rates, clean place, and friendly staff.

Ten minute walk from Nippori Station to Ryokan which is stop for Narita airport train. Well run establishment which is situated in a pleasant and quiet residential area. Good English spoken. Fair price and quality room. We had integral bathroom on 3rd floor. Easy access to a variety of food outlets. Beer available at popup street bar nearby. Two minute walk to metro station. Serviced daily and good standard of room with nice street outlook.

Room tip: Third floor with street view and bathroom worked for us.
