We got a park view and about half the time we were there, we woke up to a view of Mt. Fuji! Amazing. The location is great as the Tochomae--Oedo line--subway stop is directly under the hotel (and the Nishi-Shinjuku stop--Marinouchi line is accessible via the underground tunnel if it's pouring outside!) 7-11 is also under the hotel. The hotel is about a 15-20 min walk to the Shinjuku area and there are tons of restaurants and shops further east as well.

We had a good stay at this hotel using the free night certificates we had from renewing our Hyatt credit cards.

Upon check-in, our Gold Passport status was recognized, and we were upgraded to a room with a view of the adjacent park. The view was pretty stunning, given that all of the trees in the park were at peak autumn colors.

We arrived via the JR lines (Shinjuku Station) and used the free shuttle bus from the station to the door of the hotel -- it was quite convenient. For the rest of our trip, we primarily used the Toei Oedo Line (Tochomae Station), which was literally located in the basement of the hotel. Station exit A7 brought us right to the Hyatt's entrance.

The hotel was a great home base for exploring other neighborhoods along the Tokyo metro lines, and we found it easiest to purchase the 1000 yen day pass so we didn't have to worry about purchasing individual one-ways. Supposedly, foreigners can also purchase the pass for 800 yen, but we didn't want to deal with the hassle of a ticket office.

The lobby of this hotel was beautiful, with giant chandeliers and a Christmas tree. The staff members we encountered were polite and knowledgable. The rooms themselves were showing their age. They were probably very nice when the hotel was built in 1980, but they certainly weren't up to the standards of the newer rooms in Tokyo. It looked like the only updating that occurred in our room was the installation of a glass door on the bathroom, which was sort of odd since someone using the bathroom in the night lit up the whole room.

One final tip -- the Tokyo Government complex across the street from the hotel had a number of excellent services for tourists including a free observatory at the top of the towers (don't miss it!), a tourist information center, and a service offering free walking tours. The walking tours did need to be booked in advance, but our tour guides were fun and knowledgable.

Overall, our stay was good and we would stay again.

We stayed for 7 days at this hotel in Tokyo. The room view is amazing as we were greeting by the beautiful Mt Fuji every morning.

Hotel location is within walking distance to Shinjuku station. Shuttle bus service is provided at every 20 mins intervals. Each trip takes about 5mins.

Our room on the 18th floor were really huge, for Tokyo standard. The hotel is a bit old but still okay if you are not overly fussy. The amenities in the room are pretty standard. The bed is huge and very comfortable. We have requested a rollaway bed and it is just as comfortable. Clean sheets and nice pillows.

Buffet breakfast is provided from 6-9am. Rice, miso soup, eggs, sausages, bacon, bread, cheese, cold cuts, cereal and fruits. Not a very big spread but very adequate. From 6-8pm, the hotel provide very nice tapas! We really look forward to it every evening. Every bite is a very unique and pleasant taste! Wine and liquor are also provided.

We had a very pleasant stay!!

Room tip: Room with Mount Fuji view
