Pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms. Has enough space for 2 of us to open our luggages fully and move around. Small wardrobe but has hangers and even air freshener so that's fabulous. And it even has a foot massager and water boiler that keeps the water warm, and a water dispenser so you can boil and keep the water cool there and dispense later. Has a bar fridge as well.

Probably because of the month of our travel (Oct), the air-conditioner is now a heater, so the only way to get the room to cool is to open the window (which only opens a crack). Though it does cool the room after awhile, it's not the best way to get it to cool quickly or to ventilate the room. Had food smells coming into the room in the morning too.

But that's probably the only con.

Location was fairly good too. Near a minor Tokyo subway stop and just about 3-4 streets away from the major Shinjuku train station.

Room Tip: Check in is at 3pm. A tad late so take note if you reach Tokyo early. You can put your luggage at the concierge however.

The location near Nishi Shinjyku station is. Wry central, allowing easy access to metro stations linking to the main attractions. It is close but not too close to the nightlife of Shinjuku and there are .plenty of reasonably priced restaurants close by. The rooms are small but well equipped and the staff very helpful and accommodating. The laundry facilities on the 7th floor are very helpful.

Dear sgranz_867080,

Thank you for choosing Nishitetsu Inn Shinjuku for your recent trip to Japan.
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed our staff, facilities and location during your stay at our hotel. As you mentioned, there is a coin laundry on the 7th floor. It will cost ¥200 for washing and ¥100/30 minutes for drying, and the detergent comes automatically.
If you can suggest anything that we can do to make your next stay even better, please let us know.

Best regards,
Nishitetsu Inn Shinjuku

My partner and I stayed at Nishitetsu Inn for 3 nights during our first trip to Tokyo. The hotel is conveniently located in Shinjuku with lots of restaurants and pubs as well as a number of convenient stores next door. Rooms are extremely tiny (probably the tiniest that I've stayed in compared to others in Japan) but was extremely clean with 'help yourself' complimentary amenities (there's a table by the lobby elevator). Best advice as a tourist is to pack light as we struggled to open 2 suit cases inside the narrow room. Bed was ok (although you can tell that the mattress is quite old and saggy) - I think the hotel is currently undergoing renovations. As the location is situated in busy Shinjuku (with the red light district around the corner) I was impressed at how the room was able to keep out the hustle and bustle of city noise. My only criticism is that our floor reeked of cigarette smoke. Even though we were given a non-smoking room, the neighbouring smoking rooms gave off a very strong stench in the hallway. Although an ideal location (the Nishi Shinjuku station is around the corner) we were coming from the Shinjuku JR line and found it very very exhausting dragging our suitcases to the hotel. Not every street corner has a cross-walk and so we had to take longer detours which made a 10 minute walk more like 30 minutes. There's also heavy construction going on near the hotel so it's not the easiest streets to navigate so if you are coming from JR Shinjuku I highly recommend jumping into a taxi which would set you back around 800 yen. All in all, we had a good stay and would recommend it to visitors traveling on a budget.

Dear tannie24
Thank you for staying at Nishitetsu Inn Shinjuku and for sharing your feedback on Trip Advisor. We are glad to read your comment that you enjoyed stay with us overall.
We apologize for the unpleasant smell in the hallway. We have installed air refresh spray in all the rooms in case you sense smell, please feel free to use it.
As you mentioned our room may be small for tourists with suitcases though, we strive to keep providing clean rooms and comfortable stay. We are renovating our facilities as you stated, it will be finished next March.
Our hotel is located in business district in Shinjuku so it is a little bit far from the main Shinjuku station. Subway is the best way to get to our hotel which is 2 minutes walk from Nishi-Shinjuku station. The subway is useful and convenient to get around Tokyo.
We hope to be your host again in your next trip to Tokyo.

Best regards,
Nishitetsu Inn Shinjuku

Stayed here as a group of seven for nine nights and was able to get rooms and dates booking about 4 months in advance. Twin rooms are limited so was only able to get singles. Location was great for konbini and Maru line access, about 10min walk to Shinjuku Station and JR lines. Clean, surprisingly quiet at night, friendly staff. The lobby has some couches which was convenient for brief group gatherings. Bedroom was smallish but had dedicated space for suitcase and a few hanger items. The sliding window shutters work pretty well for keeping the room dark. Comfortable, no frills place for getting a good night's rest. The lobby has bookcase of local guide maps and airport access info. Like many business hotels, the room amenities does not include lotion.

Room Tip: Some room windows are closer to adjacent building wall

Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our convenient location and comfortable stay. Our hotel is not located in downtown, but there is some convenience stores around here and a 100-yen shop where you may buy almost anything for 100 yen excluding taxes are nearby.
Our guests pick up some amenities that they need in no room at our front desk.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the near future.
