Great place of a solid bowl of udon, the noodles seem to be fresh made with enough variations to suit anyone's taste. English friendly menu with larger bowl noodles free of charge, just ask. How could you go wrong if the line up the stairs to street level was full of locals closing out their week of being salary men/women.

They also offer a limited raw fish/horse and some skewers although we did not partake. Its worth the wait if you're hungry, they can always bring you bigger bowl of noodles. As mama always said "don't eat anything bigger than your head".

Funny thing, they do offer toothbrushes and mouthwash in the restrooms, my guess would to be clean up before heading to the office after a VERY long night of drinking.

What interesting in jaoan is they are very creative. This restaurant is one of them. Serving huge Giant bowl of udon. Actually you can choose medium or large but with the same price. Just go for large to experience it. We ordered 3 bowls for 4 adults. Had to struggle to finished them all. 4 of us cost ¥3880. Worth every udon.

Spent a little time looking for this place as I could not locate any English sign. With some help, finally got to it. It's right in front of 'Little Fat Lamb', down the basement.
Ordered the winter special udon. It was in a huge bowl. The udon and the ingredients were fresh and it's real comfort food in the cold weather. The portion was really quite big, I could not finish it.
Fortunately, I went slightly earlier. There was a long q when I left.

This restaurant serves a great bowl of udon noodles with a tasty broth (clear and curry versions). The portions are huge (look at the size of the bowl compared to my hand) and the prices were reasonable (around $10-$15 per portion).

We came during the evening and there was a 20 minutes wait. Inside there was a band playing line music which added to the atmosphere.

All in all recommend visiting.
