Description: Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu, on the corner of Nishi-Azabu Crossing, is located just 10 minutes from Tokyo Metro Roppongi, Nogizaka, and Hiroo stations are open until 3 am. Known for being the location of former-US President Bush and former-Prime Minister Koizumi’s Izakaya Summit, and even more famously known for its scene in Quentin Tarantino’s 2004 film Kill Bill, Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu’s nostalgic atmosphere brings you back to a Japan of a bygone era. To this day, Gonpachi’s fresh soba noodles, grilled skewers, tempura, and more are popular amongst both Japanese and foreign customers alike. We use carefully selected, regionally-sourced ingredients in everything from the fresh buckwheat that our chefs grind into a flour and use to make our famous homemade soba noodles to our tempura fried to crispy perfection. Whether for lunch or dinner, a date or any special occasion, if you live in Tokyo or are just passing through, we offer an unparalleled Japanese dining experience.

This is the restaurant from the fight scene in Kill Bill 1 where Uma Thurman takes on the gang of 99 with swords. The actual restaurant is a rustic traditional japanese setting with an incredible menu of meat skewers, sashimi, seafood, and more. I tried about 4 different types of skewers and they were all delicious. I also had the sushi boat and save for the sea anemone, everything was really fresh and tasty. The servers all spoke perfect English and the menu was in English, the service was fast and friendly. The set up is kind of cramped but hey its Tokyo, space comes at a premium. Overall a wonderful experience and a must see for all film enthusiasts and tourists alike.

My wife and I went to this restaurant for dinner recently with a friend who recommended it. It is a lively, boisterous and sometimes quite noisy place. The main attraction here is the fact that the restaurant was the site of the filming of the famous fight scene in the Kill Bill 1 movie. The food is a range of Japanese offerings of Yakitori style with also Tempura and Soba as well. Gonpachi has a very good selection of drinks. The service was good and with English spoken by the wait staff. We had a great fun night.

Nice music, noisy place, good food, all waiters speak English. Nice experience. Book lin advance! Great tempura. Kitchen is open on the main hall, so you can see cookers. Very nice and young atmosphere, with music from ‘80s
