Just stayed for one night. Our room was on the 22nd floor and had a brilliant view of the city and ocean.
It's an old style luxury hotel that while a little dated in places still offers excellent service.
The room was large for Japanese standards and had the usual pyjamas robes and very comfortable slippers. There was also a free phone with Internet connection for those who needed it.
The location was just a few steps away from the 1, 2 or 6 tram from the train station and a few minutes from the atomic dome, peace park and Castle.
All in all very comfortable and highly recommended.

Charged double for same room for bringing extra guest. Long wait at check in, overinflated prices. Suggest avoid. Left to carry luggage to my own room as long delay for bell boys

Room had nice view, kettle didnt work.

Easily the best hotel of our stay.
After being crammed into tiny rooms in other cities it was so nice to walk into this place which was open and offered lots of space.
We had a twin (we found this is how you got a bigger room) but we didn’t need it as it has two doubles in it!
The bathroom was massive and had everything you’d want in it.
The hotel is a little older and tired but the value for money was great.
We had an outstanding view as well, would go back in a heartbeat.

My husband, 23-yr-old son & I stayed at the RIHGA Royal Hotel Hiroshima for 4 nights in May 2019. It was a delight.

It's not chic or trendy, and not one that I'd recommend for twenty-somethings looking for a lively time. Rather, it's a elegant, old-line hotel with a big beautiful lobby and the quiet hum of (mostly) well-dressed guests being served by impeccably polite hotel staff. The location is convenient to high-end shopping (Sogo is next door) as well as to the castle and A-bomb dome & museum. We walked to the train station, but with bags it's probably better to take the streetcar. There is a gym/pool, but it's super expensive so we didn't bother to check it out.

Our room, on the 22nd floor, was unbelievably spacious for 3 people, especially by Japanese hotel standards. The bathroom was big, too. The room had all the usual things--WiFi, bedside lights, refrigerator, hot water kettle, toiletries & Japanese toilet--all of which worked. You could call the decor dated, but I'd say instead that it was classic. Designed for comfort rather than stylishness.

But the very best thing about the room was the enormous window! We faced out over Hiroshima castle, with a panoramic view of the city and the mountains behind it. Every few minutes or so we could see the Sanyo shinkansen trains flashing to and from Hiroshima station on their way to Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Osaka and Tokyo. It was magical just to sit and look out, especially at night. We did go up to the bar on the 33rd floor one evening, and had a nice time, but decided that the view from our room was actually better.

So, loved this hotel, loved Hiroshima, and definitely recommend a castle-view room!

Room tip: Castle view is worth the extra yen! Floor 22 allows you to use both elevator banks.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Hiroshima. Lovely hotel and very central.
A range of bars and restaurants in the hotel including a great one on the top floor.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
