As many have said, it’s not always easy to find good, truly vegan food in Japan but this was fantastic. We fancied a change from all the foods you tend to try here first as a tourist (like everyone we’d been stuffing ourselves with sushi, gyoza, Japanese curry etc) and thought ‘why not try this?’ It had great reviews and more than lived up to them.
The prices are very reasonable and you can order individual small dishes or a set meal of lots of little dishes depending on how hungry you are. There are lots of options and they can make a vegan version of nearly everything on the menu (it is a fully vegetarian restaurant, but all you have to do is tell them you’re vegan). We had lovely fresh salads, pakoras, samosa, a few other fried treats, two small curries each, wonderful vegan naan, rice, pudding and chai tea with soya milk - but our absolute favourite was the soup (very light, delicate, warming, refreshing and full of flavour).
