Stayed in Hotel Monterey La Soeur Osaka for four nights while visiting the Kansai region (関西).
* Decent hotel with reasonably large rooms (per Japanese standard). Our room was very clean and well-appointed. Particularly impressive was their night light, something projected from the ceiling, helping you find your way at night yet tender enough to ensure an uninterrupted sleep.
* All the receptionists speak fluent English, something we have frequently run into trouble with elsewhere during our various trips to Japan. This has helped make our stay much easier and hassle-free.
Location within the Osaka Business Park, near the JR Kyobashi (京橋) Station but requires a half-mile/600m walk, not something you’d like to do when dragging your tired legs at the end of a long day. No major attractions or business (department stores, supermarkets, etc.) nearby, so almost no matter where you go, you’d need to ride a train or subway and usually requires at least one subsequent transfer (except for maybe Osaka Umeda and Osakajokoen/Osaka Castle, which happen to be on the JR Loop Line).
Overall I felt quite fine with the hotel, however would consider it more suitable for business travelers (especially those doing biz in the business park) than for families. Rating: 3.75 out 5.0.More
