The hotel is situated in the heart of downtown Osaka very close to the most upmarket area. Dior, Chanel, Louis Vitton, armani and Osaka's answer to Harrods are all five minutes walk away. The hotel is actually in the bohemian area known as the American village. There's a 'love hotel' on the street where couples go and pay by the hour - and a couple of shops that i was told were basically brothels - but you don't see sleazy people or 'working girls' hanging around, it just looks like a bright shopfront, and you'll see places like this wherever you go in Osaka
Rooms are very small with very little storage space. Only to tiny hooks things are provided for hangars and one of those kept falling off. Everything is compact but the decor and ambience are nice the bed is very comfortable.
The bathroom is compact but fine and features what most hotels have here - a built is spray wash in the toilet for your bottom.
Staff everywhere in Osaka are friendly and some speak quite good english. Beware - taxi drivers don't speak english. Get addresses written down - preferably in Japanese.
There's a restaurant in the hotel that i didn't try - there's about 1,000 restaurants and bars on the doorstep. The street that the hotel is on is relatively quiet though.
Parking nearby but I wouldn't recommend driving in Osaka. The main streets are like race tracks and the side stetts are like reactracks with people, bikes and objects of various types strewn across them. Only the main street have names and postcodes are none existent or random at best. Taxi drivers will often ask to use your phone to call for directions! Satnav seems non-existent.
