The museum doesn't really have anything special and is mildly interesting. They do try to make the best of it, which is admirable. Nice on a rainy day and you already saw all others sites in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, etc.

We visited this museum on April 10. You can buy a ticket for the museum (600 yen) or buy a ticket were the entrance to the Osaka Castle is included (900 yen). We purchased the latter. They have English audio guides (200 yen). There are lockers on the first floor. The elevator brings you to the 10th floor were the visit starts. In some parts of this museum you are not allowed to take pictures. There are English translations next to the artifacts, but the audio guide can be helpful. When you finished a floor you have to go dawn with the escalator to the next floor.

This was our first stop in Osaka on our way to the Osaka Castle. A lot of information here where you could spend several hours if you wanted to really read about the city. Can easily visit this place ansd the Castle in a half day as they are minutes apart.

The museum is in a tall building just opposite the castle park. It has a large glass window on one side that lets you look out over the castle and the park and gives an excellent view which is worth seeing. The museum itself is ok it has a little on Osaka when it was called Naniwa and when it was the capital of Japan, they then have a floor on Japan in the 1900s.

Nice museum with many exhibits and great views of the city and Osaka Castle park. The tour starts at floor 10 and goes down but only maybe half are used for the museum. There were many miniatures of buildings from the past.
