Beautiful all around. Can be a bit crowdy. But a must see if you are in Osaka. Couple of stores in the garden floor. Also food trucks.

I had a chance to visit this place in August. The park is nice to take a breather and with nice trees. The Castle looks so pretty from a distance when you are standing in the middle of the park. It's just like one of those pictures you would see in Japan Travel books.
This park is super clean and very beautiful. I visited in the afternoon and it could have been crowded with tourists and locals but it wasn't, so it was quite quiet and peaceful. And even if were to get crowded, the park is extremely large for everyone to move about freely and even bike around too.
The park has many modern and awesome benches for resting and quite spacious picnic areas too that would be perfect for spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. I stayed in the area that was by the moats of Osaka Castle so it was a great view to check it out and also take in the scenery of the turrets (which look very different from turrets we're used to too).
So come for relaxation and the gorgeous views of Osaka Castle and the awesome moat. You'll have a great time just taking in the scenery. So bring some drinks, maybe a blanket, and a good book. And enjoy!
Was actually heading for the castle but saw the park and its full of life. Locals having picnics and playing games all over the place. Join a local friendly badminton game and was invited for a beer.
The park surrounds the castle with a small lake in the back. The flowering trees were got for photography.
Be sure to come here to relax and chill.
The building is look so new , not much inside to see, to see the beauty of the castle just stay out side, if u don't go inside u don't miss anything.
The Osaka Castle Park is a very good walking park. Well marked trails and paved paths. There is plenty of room for pedestrians and bicyclers to share. It is very difficult to focus on the park when the center-piece is the Castle itself!
The views and picture-taking opportunities abound as you make your way around the park.
Nice easy (flat) walking park with easy access and available for wheel chars and baby strollers alike.
Give yourself 45 minutes to "amble" through the park or you could "power walk" in 25 minutes with no problems.
P.S. there is a public bathroom available in the park as well.
