Great access, English translations easily obtained, great value (600 yen). No pressure to purchase additional items. Great explanations of such an important piece of osaka history.

It was a long walk to be able to see the Osaka Castle but it was worth it! Beautiful trees everywhere, a nice river along the way, pigeons waiting to be fed and yummy snack kiosks located in another corner! Tourist shops were also located nearby for some little trinkets and souvenirs you might want to buy.

It was a nice sunny day therefore I was able to enjoy some photo ops with the castle and the surroundings! What I enjoyed most was trying authentic Takoyaki balls in one of the kiosk nearby! You need to pay and choose your snack in a "vending machine" and the seller will cook it for you. It was the yummiest Takoyaki I've ever tasted! So please if you happen to visit Osaka Castle Park, try their foods there! *I AM CRAVING SOME FOOD NOW*

You can also feed the pigeons there! Feed all you want. haha. but make sure to throw your left-over scraps and water bottles in the trash bin, as you know people in Japan are very particular with cleanliness. :)

It is a must because it is famous. But beyond the ciclopic walls not too exciting. The museum inside I think is more interested then the wooden castle itself. 600 years newer then London Tower and less majestic .
The fortifications though are impressive. Huge. Well designed, but build by Dutch military engineers for cannons. It reflects more Vauban then the Samurai culture.
Hope to not offend anybody by stating what I consider the truth.

Thank Nicolae I

It's 5-10 minutes walk from osaka subway station, momiji (maple) and ginkgo trees can be found here. There is also a japanese garden with a large pond near the main castle keep. You can even see few ducks swimming at the pond!!
