Stayed at Hotel in December 2018. Staffs can speak English and are always ready to assists you. The room we got is spacious enough for two person with big luggage bags. Conveniently located in a quiet area of the City and are within walking distance to the nearest subway line (3min) and Chuo Bus Station (10min) and the Shopping Arcade (5min). Definitely recommended to give the Hotel a try.

The best thing about this hotel is the excellent location. It's located on the main street and there are plenty of eateries and convenient stores around. It's just around 10 mins walk (in snow) to Nijo Market and Odori Park.

The rooms are clean and comfortable and decent in size. I particularly like the shower and bathtub area.

I was rather annoyed that it doesn't provide bottle water upon checkin. When I asked, I was told that I will only be "rewarded" with a bottled water if I request for no-make up room. But since we only stay for 1 night, we couldn't get the reward if we wanted to.

The other issue was constant siren sound of the emergency vehicles at night. I can even hear it eventhough my room was on the 12th floor.

There is also a parking garage behind the hotel that charges JPY1,500 per night.

Hotel Appearance:

The hotel exterior is nice nothing notable, normal wear and tear but overall nice.

Hotel Lobby:

You actually have to travel go up a few floors to check in at the reception area. Once you have completed the check in process you will then catch a same set of elevators to the rooms of the hotel. To get to your floor you need to use the room key which is nice security feature. We were the only ones in the elevator so not sure if others can press a different floor with one card. The lobby area is modern and clean no coffee maker or anything just a few couches. The check out process was easy, you don't even need to see a live person. Just insert your room key in a computer and your bill comes up you pay and bye bye.

Check in Staff

The front desk staff are very nice and friendly, always smiling and interacting with guest they are helping or passing through the lobby. All of the staff speak English very well and are very helpful to get you around town.

Rooms

The rooms for were very spacious especially for Japan standards. There was actually room to walk around and even with four pieces of luggage stored it was very comfortable. The room was very clean and modern. Flat screen t.v., coffee maker, desk. The bed is a standard double enough for one or two persons. It is comfortable to sleep two persons with room on the sides to get off the bed without disturbing the other person. * During the winter months the Air Conditioning is turned off and only the heater works. So if you get hot you will need to open the window for cooling off.

Bathroom

Very clean and provides all the necessities of home. So if you don’t bring soap, shampoo, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, hair dryer or shower cap they provide it all. The soap and shampoo felt decent quality very lathering felt clean and not soapy can’t wash off feeling. Typical American style toilet with the Japanese bidet, so no squatting if you know what I mean. Also, this was a particularly large bathroom for a Japan hotel in my opinion. You could actually walk around in it a bit and not feel cramped.

Restaurant

There is a restaurant downstairs to the hotel and you get a coupon if you are staying in the hotel to eat there. The food is very tasty and has a good variety of both American and Japanese dishes. It is buffet style with hot and cold drinks. The restaurant is Italian I believe as you can get lunch and dinner there too.

Special Notes
There is a 7-11 downstairs connected to the hotel and a Lawsons across the street very convenient if you need a snack for late nights. Also, there is a train/ subway station very close by so access to the underground is not a far walk. This hotel is very central and close to many shops and eateries.

Room tip: If you want quiet room ask for one not facing the main street.

A very comfortable mid-range hotel in a great location. Susukino is the heart of Sapporo and Daiwa Roynet is located there. Many of the city's tourist attractions are within walking distance and there is a very active nightlife too.
We were most impressed by the breakfast included with the room, truly exceptional selection of Asian and European fare. Also, when we had transportation problems the staff went above and beyond to find a solution to our problem and all worked out well thanks to them!

I will not return again. Went to the reception and ask them to reserve a table for dinner for me they said they cannot make table reservation for guests, they just called and passed the phone to me to speak. One evening the air-con was very very weak I could not breathe in the room, asked them to come in to feel how hot the room was, they said there is nothing they can do because too many guests turn on the air-con. At the end they gave me a fan good it is a brand new fan. On check out, they will call at 11:05 a.m. and tell you if you don't check out by 11:20 a.m. they will charge an hour.
