I thought staying on Odori Koen is central but didn't realise that it's almost 10 blocks long. It would have been more convenient to stay at another hotel nearer to Odori station. But the children loved the park in front. It was their first time seeing snow and they were rolling around and playing in it.

Booked through booking.com but somehow reservation got mixed up. I had 2 adults and 2 teenagers, there's no way we could squeeze into a triple room.

The front desk staff was very professional about the whole thing and managed to get us into a 4-bed room though I had to be in 2 different rooms on 2 different nights. But somehow the welcome felt less than warm (though it was -5 outside, haha). But the concierge helping us make dinner reservations was absolutely friendly and we were very happy with her service.

Rooms were clean and very nice. Spacious even. Toilet and showers were in different rooms so that was convenient for the 4 of us.

Stayed last night in Hokkaido at Sapporo View Hotel. Very nice and new hotel facing Odori Park. The rooms are very spacious and clean. 24hr Lawson convenient store is located opposite hotel. Easy to walk to Odori park to enjoy White Illumination for Christmas. Recommend to stay here.

I stayed for 3 nights at Sapporo View Hotel Odori Kouen a week before Christmas 2018 with my family of four people. We were given a deluxe room with 2 extra beds. It was a good deal since the total stay costed less than JPY100.000.

The staff are vey nice. The room is also nice and quite spacious. The hotel is probably built around mid 90's. It's not new but in relatively good condition.

The thing I dislike from the hotel is the distinct smell of cigarette as the hotel allows smoking in the lobby and the restaurants. The hotel also has very limited number of non-smoking room. I did not have a choice during booking and was given a non-smoking room. The staff are kind enough to steam deodorize the room so that it did not smell too strong. Letting people smoke in the room is bad for the property. People nowadays avoid cigarette smelling rooms, even smokers do. Carpet become damaged due to the falling ashes.

The hotel is located right in the middle of Odori Park i.e. 1km from Sapporo TV Tower. It is a more quiet part of the park since most of the events are concentrated around 300m from the tower. Odori Station nearest exit and nearest tram station is about 250m from the hotel. For those who need a more lively neighborhood, Susukino area will be a better choice.

Hotel food is pretty expensive. Breakfast is charged at JPY 2700 per person and dinner buffet is at JPY 4000 per person.

The stay is relatively pleasant especially due the hospitality of the staff. But considering the location and the smoking policy, I am not sure to stay at the hotel again.

We stayed here in mid December. It was very snowy and the Christmas market was taking place in Odorikoen (a good time to visit). This hotel is very conveniently located park side. The staff were very helpful giving recommendations for things to do and helped us to plan an excellent day out at Jozankai onsen town.

Room tip: Rooms with a view of the park must be on the north side

2 nights in November 2018, we stay at Sapporo view hotel. The room is quite new and very clean, warm and comfortable, wide bath room which separate the toilet, free wifi in room, staff are friendly and very active but no drinking water provided in the room. The location is in the city center, running around the Odori park is good and overall is satisfied.
