The ryokan is located near to subway station Shijo in central Kyoto, which is good for sightsseing and some restaurants are in close vicinity. The hotel sits next to the street which will be heard from the rooms.
The service of the hotel is very reactive. The ryokan is of considerable age and could do with some refurbishment. Rooms are Japanese style with tatami mats but NO private toilet or bath. No meals.

We arrived late due to flight delay but the host just kept shushing n pocker face to us even we already being quiet. Sth went wrong for our booking with Agoda and we almost got kicked out in a raining nite-endedup being charged 1room extra for keeping 1more person stay in the same room of our original booking. What put us off the most is the attitude of the lady. We didn't feel welcoming at all since our arrival.

There are only 2 toilets(western and Japanese each) and 1 bathroom which are shared by abt 5rooms. And the room we stayed in had a weird smell.

Awesome place, two sweet old ladies run this place with their broken English, so cute. They greet you when you come in and leave, so funny. The room was large and authentic. The walls are thin (the door is paper) so you need to be considerate of other guests, there probably should not be a tv in the rooms. It is shared bathrooms and they have a onsen type bath as well as showers. The location is also perfect, down a traditional side street but very near the main downtown shopping street. Also, worth noting, there is a 11pm curfew which may not suit some people.
