We stayed here for 5 nights and really couldn’t fault the hotel. Was good value compared to other hotels in a similar location. Staff at reception desk were lovely and very helpful with helping us booking restaurants etc and happy for us to leave our bags there after checkout on our last day. The location was amazing, close to lots of great restaurants, Nishiki markets for best food tasting experience and close to buses which are really easy to navigate and will get you to any of the further out attractions. As other reviews mention, the room was compact but had everything you needed and enough room for two plus luggage without constant bumping into each other :) Loved the heated part of the bathroom mirror so didn’t steam up while showering! Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again on future visits to Kyoto.

Resol is a very new facility and the rooms are typically small. However, they are well designed, and the bathroom is exceptionally good. The windows open to provide fresh air, and we were able to stay six nights here with no problems. One way, you are five minutes walk away from Pontocho "Alley" with the myriad of bars & restaurants; the other is three minutes from Teramachi shopping arcade. It's a five minute walk to Sanjo subway station for easy access elsewhere and the bus for the Golden Temple goes from 100m up the road. Staff are super friendly & there's a lounge room with free "capsule" coffee in the lobby. Better still, DripDrop coffee and Caffe Lucca are just across the road!

This hotel has got to be one of the best 3 star hotels I’ve stayed at. Love the design of the room with the tatami and the sliding door as window covers. The room is bigger than other hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan. You actually get a seating area plus room to open up your luggage flat. Bathroom is bigger than the average hotel in Japan, you can actually move around without bumping into stuff . Water pressure is superb. Toiletry bag you get to keep is a nice touch. Bed and duvet were super comfortable. The location was great, within walking distance to all tourists spots, and there are a couple bus stops right outside the hotel that takes you directly to Arashiyama (the bamboo forest). Most importantly, all the the staff I encountered were very helpful and friendly. Even if they didn’t understand what I wanted, they tried their best and utilized an iPad for translation. Highly recommended.

Great location within walking distance of many of Kyoto landmarks. Hotel is clean and quiet. Rooms are small but well designed. Get up early to eat breakfast without the tourist crowd. The mushroom undon is a delicious must try. All breakfast foods that contain potential allergy ingredients or items restricted for some are listed on cards in English. Love it.

Room tip: For 2 adults, twin room or larger for a good night sleep.

Stayed here for only one night. Exquisite experience!! very close to Gion and other tourist sights. The hotel was nicely designed. The lobby area is a good place to rest and have a cup of coffee. We were dead tired after one day walk. Had a solid sleep there.
