A few pros for this hotel, the rooms are large and comfortable. It includes a small kitchen so you can easily heat up bentos or make a meal if you'd like. There is laundry on site, and for Japan, I think the hotel was very spacious. Service was great, no complaints.
Con: even though there is a station right in front of the hotel, it is one stop from Kyoto station, so we frequently had to hop on this line, to take ONE stop to a different line to get to a couple of touristy places, and it would be about $2 each way. Not worth it, so you end up trying to walk the 15 min to the main shops to get to the other line, and it just became exhausting. Not the hotel's fault at all, but something to consider.
The pillows were terribllleeeee.... we had to ask for extras as they only gave us 2, and it only helped a little.
We didn't have the breakfast buffet, there are a lot of little restaurants on the street, so we had plenty to choose from.More
