My sister, mother and I recently travelled from Edinburgh to Kesh to see our grandfather/father, whom we hadn't seen in many years. After visiting him in hospital we made our way to Kesh to get something to eat. After discounting one venue we headed across the road to The Sizzling Stone - and what a revelation. It was quiet on our first evening, but the welcome, service and food were superb. Goat's cheese crostini starter would easily have fed, and likewise the king prawn special dish and the chicken goujons. There was no space left for pudding. Whilst there we saw the table card advertising the sizzling stone option for steaks - what an experience. I ordered the 8oz fillet and my sister had the rib-eye. Should you require advice on the best way to cook your steak perfectly that is on hand, however we both like out steak blue, so there's not much advice to be had on that other than tuck in and enjoy. When we arrived for our second meal the restaurant was jumping but thankfully they managed to squeeze us in before a table of 10 sat down. Even though it was full and quite noisy it was a great evening and the guinness helped it all slip down a treat. We will be back on our next visit to Kesh.
