Rice terraces are seen everywhere in Yuan Yang. Three lookouts - Duoyishu, Bada & Laohuzui - incur an admission fee. While tourist groups must visit these lookouts, independent tourists don't have to pay for the lookouts in order to enjoy the view of these magnificent rice terraces.
If you do visit these paid lookouts, you must go there earlier in order to get a look spot for it. These lookouts are packed with tourists. Duoyishu is well-known for the sunrise view but Bada and Laohuzui are better visited at sunset. You could also visit other beautiful rice terraces such as Longshuba for free.
For tourists who are not very much into photography, 2-day stay at Yuan Yang is sufficient. The 2-day admission fee of these lookouts is RMB100 which covers four tourist attractions - Duoyishu, Bada, Laohuzui and Qing Kou Cultural Village. There are a lot of private vans and taxis at Xinjizhen which could take tourists to these places. Tourists could either hire one or share it with other tourists and the locals. Price negotiation is essential.
