Despite the Sunshine Coast being an area renowned as a foodie paradise it is amazing that you are lucky if you find one or two seafood dishes on the restaurant menus. Wahoo is different and a true seafood cafe, with seafood that is the freshest available, beautiful but unpretentious in its presentation, served in lovely outdoor surroundings under a pandanus tree overlooking a village green, heaven! The menu is changed seasonally I believe.
Chips are handcut and being large only a few are served, stacked. If fish and chips is your thing the choice is snapper or barra and choose from grilled, crumbed or battered, so rare to get the choice. Tuna nicoise, bugtails, fishcakes, soft shelled crab, are only some of the other offerings. Simple, fresh and beautifully made small Greek salads accompany some dishes. If you must eat meat there is a selection for you here too. A simple wine and beer list is available. We will definitely be back - one of our real finds on this coast where food is often overpriced and far too removed from the taste and simplicity that bring out its best.
