We were there for 4 nights, two couples and there was not much choice in the village.
We arrived late and were tired and they had a cabana available. Interior was very basic and cold. But they provided us with wood so we could heat the oven. We did not look for comfort as we went outside all day long. Food in their hotels restaurant was good. It is very cheap, so do NOT expect much. We did not see the hotel rooms but would stay there again.

This is a small, simple, family run Hostal. I only slept there for 2 nights and it was okay for that amount of time. Rio Tranquilo is one of the bases for exploring Lago General Carrera and Region and it's one of the very few small villages in the area (and that offers mini markets, 1 petrol station, and a few restaurants - one of them, located in this place). The rooms are basic, old mattresses but if you get a nice room in the top floor the view is amazing (if it's sunny). Family running it is very nice. The hotel restaurant is okay, but will offer you fresh fish (and delicious if you like). I'd say it's a bit expensive for what you get but everything is expensive in this part of the world given that transportation there is not easy and the cost in fuel to take things/supplies up/down there mud be insane.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room - mind the steps though! It might be hard to go all way up after you trekked the whole day as we did!

The hosteria is well located with nice view on the lake, at least the front rooms .
The rooms are clean and efficient . The offered heating system did not work , hot water was not available in the morning .
It was very noisy from the dining room until midnight and the next morning at five am the noise from people running up and down the stairs woke us up .
The food was ok , but overpriced .
The staff was friendly.

WiFi doesn't really work. Rooms are clean and practical. Heating works perfectly (solar energy). Hot water is not always available. Restaurant's food is mediocre ( nothing more is expected though).
Service at the reception excellent.

Nice place all together! A small hotel that totally agrees with the environment of the place. Facing the Lake Gral Carrera, you will find a friendly, charming and welcoming hotel. Staff is very helpful and willing to make your stay unforgettable. The dinning room is very charming, facing the lake; dinner is limited to a set menu each night, all home made food, and nice wines. Prices are reasonable. There are few places to stay at this location, I totally recommend this hotel. It is not fancy, it is rustic, like the area . Perfect !

Room Tip: We were set in room # 4. Excellent view!
