I Stayed here for one night as part of 2-day's Tulou tour from Xiamen.
This hotel was advertised as the first only 3-star option with simple Chinese breakfast.
The place itself is a Haka house, re-arranged as hotel.
It is a peaceful surrounding and the operating staff is very friendly.
I took the option for the suite-room (309), which has king bed, computer,
big toilet/shower-room and sitting corner; so very complete room.
Also was enjoy-able to play on the automatic mahjong machine (4 persons required to play).
There is Diner place nearby with good food and assortment of meat/fish/fried-rice etc.
The hotel would score an average of very good to excellent if:
a. bed would be soft/hard.. not as hard as currently
b. breakfast would be extended with some more western choice (salad, fruit, yoghurt)
c. waiting time for warm shower-water shortened.
I have to say...
I have seen many Chinese hotels, but this is the hardest bed i ever slept on;
it was really like sleeping on a wooden floor. so here is some space for improvement
The room itself is spacious with big shower/toilet/wash-table area, sitting room, computer and fast wireless internet.
The hot shower-water lasted about 3 minutes to reach the showerhead.
The breakfast was not my thing... (Chinese bread, rise pottage, scrambled egg
and Chinese vegetables from vacuum "silver"-bags). Orange juice or other drink on request.
I only took the scrambled egg and tried the bread.
Overall for price/quality, I still would recommend this hotel.
Would stay here next time, but would ask for softest bed they have.
