Owner description: Rehema Cafe is a beautiful western style coffeehouse which offers espresso coffee, cakes, lunch and Saturday morning breakfast. Its outdoor eating area has a tranquility that is unexpected in the bustle of Musoma. Warm, friendly Tanzanian women serve you underneath a canopy of trees, birds and the occasional monkey. All profits from the cafe are used for the Rehema Project’s cause in helping disadvantaged women and children.

Everytime we need kind of a break from work, we are coming to this lovely place. We meet nice people (especially the staff is so very kind), relax, watch wildlife ;) (monkeys, birds, lizzards), buy nice souveniers, enjoy our breakfast/lunch. And the best is: all the money you spend goes directly into projects that support women and children who really need it ... as I just said, We love it.

Upon hearing rumors of Rehema Cafe's existence, the stories seemed too good to be true - a place that has lasagna(!) as as one of the permanent fixtures on the menu, in the quiet town of Musoma, Tanzania??

Well, to our good fortune, not only does it indeed exist, but it manages to surprise us week after week - we are only able to go during the weekends, and we look forward to it all week!

The food is flavorful and complex, and the quality of the ingredients is top notch - the chicken is plump and tender (an exception in Musoma!), and even straightforward things like a hamburger get a little twist (the "Rehema's Sauce") to give it a bit of pizazz. Every week there are specials (which you can locate via their fb page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rehema-cafe/270768116275402?sk=info ) which ensure that the menu is full of surprises - oftentimes entrees that would be difficult to find elsewhere in Musoma, or even most of Tanzania.

To top it all off, the service is friendly, relaxing and prompt, and the prices, although slightly more than local standards is very reasonable given the quality, and quite a bit less expensive than, for example, the peninsula hotel (another place where foreigners sometimes go to try to find some variety from the local fare)...

The surroundings are so pleasant (spacious, clean outdoor dining with a family of monkeys playing overhead in the tress!) that we have sometimes stayed the day (well, the part of the day that they are open) to get some work done on our laptops.

Our one caveat, is that they are not open more hours!

Rehema's is currently open from 10am-4pm from Wednesday through Friday, and then 9am-4pm on Saturday. Their precise location can be found via google maps: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=rehema+cafe,+musoma+tanzania&hl=en&ll=-1.503002,33.804674&spn=0.009974,0.015278&geocode=+&hq=rehema+cafe,&hnear=Musoma,+Mara,+Tanzania&t=m&z=16&iwloc=A

Rehema cafe and craft shop is in a small shady quiet area overlooking the cathedral. There are monkeys in the trees, lovingly designed eating areas, and a menu of home made food with a western bias that leaves you wanting to come back every day-Our normal Musoma wali and beans diet was fine fare, but the opportunity for Cottage pie and chocolate brownies was irresistible. Worth every shillingi, and our resident teenager gave the home made burger 10/10.
This place is special-it is permeated by peace and care, and is just yards from the normal bustle of the main road. Newspapers and magazines are provided, but a great place for a leidurely lunch with a book or friends.

The Rehema Cafe is a great place to relax, with a lovely atmosphere, and incredibly friendly staff! The food is all made on site, and as a result, it extremely tasty!!! The delicious specials change weekly to keep you on your toes, and they never fail to impress!
I recommend Rehema to everyone, and profits go to such a worthy cause; supporting women and children in Musoma.

Rehema is a lovely place to relax in a great location next to the anglican cathedral. There is a good variety of food on the menu with my personal favourite being the rehema burger. The staff are very friendly and approachable and they provide magazines and Newspapers in English and swahili. The food and drink is good valued for the size and quality of the portion and the profit goes to a great cause. Helping women and children in musoma.
