I have never written a review on trip advisor but feel compelled to do it for this property. Everything was fantastic, we arrived at 2am but someone was there to walk us to our room, Niko was ever so helpful before I got there. Had a room set away from the ocean, but could still hear the waves crashing, no a/c was fine, the wind and fan made the temperature perfect to sleep. the food was AMAZING. Ate almost every meal at the hotel, right on the steps of a great beach, super friendly staff. 5 Stars on all fronts!!!!!!

Room Tip: had room with no a/c which was fine. room number was 13. set away from the restaurant and the front...

Mirissa is just a touch of paradise and Palm Villa with its colonial building is a great mix of history and beach.
It's right on the beach and whilst you eat on, you can see turtles coming up to breathe.
There are also 2 rabbits, a lovely chilled out cat and a dog on the premises - great for kids....and me!

We had some problems with our seaview room though - there was a cockroach which bit my partner during the night. We saw it crawl on my pillow and obviously freaked out when half asleep! The staff were very efficient in changing our rooms almost instantaneously. However, the seaview rooms have a bit of an ant problem! Big ants too. There were just everywhere and needed spraying down a couple of times.
Also, with the seaview rooms, the communal area is directly next to your front door so it's not as peaceful as you would like it to be.

We were pretty disappointed with the food as well - it was nowhere near as good as the other places we had stayed at, and the portions were really small for the price. I ordered garlic prawns and chips on our 1st night and got a huge salad, a few small prawns and about 6 chips for 800 LKR which is a lot. So we ventured to Mirissa 'town' the other nights for much better value and better food.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms also mean less peace from the other guests as it's next to communal area

Not modern, not 'designer' but very very cute. Nice size, clean and comfortable rooms, en-suite with hot water. Right on the beach, go to sleep listening to the waves breaking on the shore. Extremely friendly staff although some of the jokes can get a bit 'lost in translation' as it were. Good food, nicely prepared and served.
We were here out of season and the rest of Mirissa was more or less shut but it hardly mattered as everything we wanted was right there. Stayed four days and loved every minute.

We started our honey moon in Mirissa and it couldn't have been much better. The location is idilic set right on the beach with beautiful but simple rooms, hammocks to laze away the afternoon and the food is outstanding. The best Curry we have ever had, so fresh and lovely.

Everything is easy. We had a half day in Galle which was perfect from this location (30min tuk tuk). the drive along the undeveloped coast is terrific. Apart from everything else the staff were what made our stay special. They are warm, welcoming and attempt to ensure you have everything you need. Because this is a villa and not a large hotel the personal touch is what makes the difference. Get here before everyone else does. Thanks Palm Villa Phil&Rach, hope to see you again soon

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. The rooms are quite simple in decor but are clean and cozy. The Location is perfect and the staff are very friendly and always available to help you. At the Palm Villas you feel like you are relaxing in a old colonial style. My favorite part of the day was when the heavens would open with thunder showers and we would sit on out stoops driving fresh tea that was served. The the rain would clear up in time for Sundowners on the beach.

Palm Villa was the best place stayed in during a month in Sri Lanka, rooms were spotlessly clean, breakfast was plentiful and all the staff very helpful. Its at the quiet end of an amazing beach, about a 10 minute walk to along the beach to the bars and resturants. Recommended.

Room Tip: Worth paying the extra for a family room with balcony.

Perfect Location, Frendly staff, Good Service. What is the most important we pay 26$ (exclude breacfest) per room for 2 person. For this price it was best option in Mirrisa, in May 2013. Quality and delicious food. Amazing seafood
