We are residents of Sri Lanka and when we want a relaxing, peaceful get away for a long weekend, we book here. They only offer half- board or full - board. I highly recommend only going with half- board. The food is 'ok' - mostly traditional Sri Lankan and this can get a bit tiring if on a long weeks holiday. The hotel offers the only pool on the beach - great for families with small children. If, however, you are allergic to mold, beware! Some of the bathroom showers need a good 'kill'. Also a down side is they do not have coffee/ tea making facilities in the room. this is actually very unusual for most sri lankan hotels. we end up bring our own kettle, cups and french press!Over all...good value for money if you want sun, sand and sea!

Room Tip: Upper floor has a wonderful view of the sea

My friend and I stayed here the night of 13th Oct 2012. Given that the weather was quite pleasant we opted for the non-AC cabana for $60 a night inclusive of buffet dinner and breakfast, which constitutes as Half-Board. They only offer Half-Board or Full-Board (includes lunch as well) accommodation. The buffet dinner was nothing to write home about. But usually buffet meals are like that. The rooms were clean and well equipped – beautiful heavy wooden bed and almirah and a clean shower with running hot water. It’s a beach property so we had to take barely 15 steps before our toes were in the Indian Ocean. After a lovely walk on the beach, we tucked in for a mosquito-free night and were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves. The morning view was just breath-taking! We were headed whale-watching and hence woke up with the sun. That early morning sun on the beach made the sand glisten in a way I’ve never seen before. Check-out was at noon, so when we got back from whale-watching at 11 (spotted 3 Blue Whales), we had enough time for a quick swim in the ocean and another hot shower.

We just returned from the Paradise Beach Club where we spent 7 nights. We loved it. Although I read before that the service is not good I am glad now that we booked it anyway. We had really good relation with the staff and they helped with all our requests. We also had some mosquitos (was still rainy season) but we could use the net above the bed (when we asked the cleaning boy to spread the net over the bed he even took it down before and cleaned it completely). We loved the beach and the atmosphere there. You could always have your beach beds at the beach without problems, the life-guards at the hotel carried them for you. Having the breakfast and dinner at the beach terrace was an extra plus! I would definitively come back.

Mirisia Beach is about a mile long...We saw all hotels and guest houses which were on the beach front and chose this one which is right in the center
Restaurant could be better-take the BB and find a nice fish place on the beach.Staff were just OK and were EAGER for tips.
Do not misunderstand us-we ll take this place once more if we ever come back to Srilanka

Room Tip: Make sure you are on the second floor-west side-with open view to the sea

This hotel was lovely. We spent 3 nights here and enjoyed it all. The rooms were clean (although quite a few mossies), a lovely beach, great food and very friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We used this hotel for 1 night stay on the sea side during our travel round Sri Lanka. Looks like it is one of the best hotels on this beach. We were not in good season so it was not full. That is why we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner on the beach terrace.
I should say that the food was good. And the choice of fruits was excellent.
The sea was stormy. There were no beach beds and umbrellas on the beach.
There were some complains about service but I still find it better than in South Europe.
There was a nice wine list in the restaurant and quite reasonable priced.
I doubt that I will stay in this hotel for a week, but for 1-2 days stay it is perfect.
P.S. If you want to have spa or massage use only spa in the hotel. You can find better prices in the local area but be ready to have massage on wooden table and without a shower:-)

Room Tip: I think rooms in the new building are better. But still there is some strange smell. Better not to t...

On first impressions the resort looks amazing. The location is great, beach clean but small same with the pool.
The delux double rooms are spotless and have very comfortable beds and satellite tv along with WIFI.
The staff on reception were very helpful along with housekeeping.
The service in the restaurant is shocking. We stayed halfboard and signed for our drinks settling the bill on departure.... (who wants to carry money around when you are on the beach in a resort? )
Initially the waiters were friendly but the change in attitude with some of the older waiters when they realised they were not being tipped was astonishing .... (service charge and tax were already added to the bill). What started off as a very welcoming smile actually started to make me feel very uncomfortable.
In the first instance when I wanted to sign the bill for lunch I was repeatedly told by one waiter no less than 5 times... "no you pay now madam!"
Clearly the chap was after a cash tip.
I usually happily tip but being almost pressured into it did not make me happy. Especially after my husband had left the table to collect something from our room. I am not usually phased by people's egos but this guy was quite uncivil.
Most of the younger waiters are happy and provide good service. I do think more training is required for the younger ones.
Many times we did not recieve our drinks until dessert and often tables are left dirty with no cutlery for new dinners. More staff are required. it is such a shame that the hotel is spoilt by bad service and attitude in the restaurant.
