On first impressions the resort looks amazing. The location is great, beach clean but small same with the pool.
The delux double rooms are spotless and have very comfortable beds and satellite tv along with WIFI.
The staff on reception were very helpful along with housekeeping.
The service in the restaurant is shocking. We stayed halfboard and signed for our drinks settling the bill on departure.... (who wants to carry money around when you are on the beach in a resort? )
Initially the waiters were friendly but the change in attitude with some of the older waiters when they realised they were not being tipped was astonishing .... (service charge and tax were already added to the bill). What started off as a very welcoming smile actually started to make me feel very uncomfortable.
In the first instance when I wanted to sign the bill for lunch I was repeatedly told by one waiter no less than 5 times... "no you pay now madam!"
Clearly the chap was after a cash tip.
I usually happily tip but being almost pressured into it did not make me happy. Especially after my husband had left the table to collect something from our room. I am not usually phased by people's egos but this guy was quite uncivil.
Most of the younger waiters are happy and provide good service. I do think more training is required for the younger ones.
Many times we did not recieve our drinks until dessert and often tables are left dirty with no cutlery for new dinners. More staff are required. it is such a shame that the hotel is spoilt by bad service and attitude in the restaurant.

Hotel is located right on the beautiful beach of mirissa.. Its an awesome location. I went with 3 small kids and they love swimming pool.. This place had excellent (but small) pool, excellent food, friendly staff and a lovely beach... So we enjoyed both together.. Beach for us.. Pool for kids and then lovely food to top it all..

A small tip.. They have buffet for lunch and dinner but in my opinion, their a la carte menu is awesome with grilled and ymmy seafood and low costs!

Enjoy!

Great location, very nice beach and nice facilities, but there the positive side ends. Service is poor and frosty to say the least. The evening buffet is also quite dissapointing. If the staff could change their attitude this would be a highly recommended place.

Terrific setting, right on the beach, with the added benefit of a small pool and attractive landscaping. Plenty of sun lounges and beach towels were generally, but not always, available. Modern, spacious rooms with excellent AC in the new wing though others staying in the bungalows had a different experience. This is a hotel with so much potential but, unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The staff varied in their level of friendliest and seemed very stretched at meal times in particular with delays for drinks being the norm and orders frequently forgotten. Every bill, no matter how small, was hand-written, in duplicate, and the staff seemed more concerned with the checking of room numbers and the signing of order forms than with delivering the goods. Each appeared to have a specific job to do so just looked on when others were at full-stretch rather than helping out. The laundry service took over twice as long as promised. However, I had a very enjoyable stay in this magical location but only because I could laugh at the inefficiency around me.

Room Tip: Ground floor room in new wing was a great size but noisy and overlooked by restauant - try to be as...

Location is the highlight and is excellent- off the main road and on the beach front - clean, quiet and really great for relaxing. We stayed in a bungalow without AC and the rooms can be difficult to keep cool so if you can stretch the budget it's probably worthwhile; although that being said even in the cheapest bungalows there were seats and table outside which was a nice touch. Nice pool, plenty of sun loungers and free beach towels for borrowing.

Main drawback and possible deal clincher - the service which was terrible - it was poor across the board (primary touch points being reception and the restaurant). If you expect and rate good service highly then this isn't the hotel for you; the staff were rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. It was clear that our custom wasn't important and we weren't worth any effort (even common courtesy/politeness); we were treated as though we were lucky to have a room and that if we hadn't they would have filled it with someone else!

TIP: If you want to stay a number of days then book ahead; in peak season it gets really busy so just turning up and expecting availability may lead to disappointment. One word of warning if booking ahead be really clear with what you need/expect as they are not good at managing booking errors!

Literally a few metres from the waves, the setting for this large b&b is hard to beat. Probably the cleanest beach on this south coast and suitable for swimming all year round.
The breakfast buffet is good but for other meals head up the beach to one of the other cafes
We stayed in the cheapest rooms at off season price of $58/night including breakfast and dinner.

after a nightmare hotel in Hikkaduwa, my driver took me here in Mirissa .. two kinds of rooms, basic ones in bungalows with or without AC and a bit more sophisticated ones in the main building in front of the pool .. very clean .. good beds, the beach is absolutely wondeful.. half board is a bit basic, dinner very european ( soup, meat with rice and vegetables and desert) ..but their club sandwich is perfect for a lunch bite !!!!!!!! I am not interested so much in food so I didnt bother too much but I could imagine some people would do .. staff in the hotel very friendly, staff in the restaurant a bit rough .. hotel was supposed to be closed because of renovations but they postponed these so hotel was fairly empty .. which I liked as service is not extremely fast ..; inernet and wifi are excellent ! some very nice restaurants on the beach for lunch and dinner in case u want to try something else with fish catched on the day !! if you eat on the terrace in the evening, mosquito protection is needed ! ;-) they have drivers accomodation ..

Room Tip: if u are in the main building .. avoid the first rooms, they have view on the restaurant building...
