We were so sad to leave this morning after 2 nights at this resort. Everything that has been said before, we totally endorse. The infinity pool is one of the best we have seen and the gardens are lovingly cared for. Begonia Villa was spacious and 'rustic' with its own little garden.Unfortunately, my husband had picked up a bug before we arrived so was unable to enjoy the food. This means we will simply have to return at some point! The staff are a delight and made such a fuss of my husband, even specially making him a healing Ayurvedic soup, free of charge. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and one we would thoroughly recommend.

A slice of heaven...I still dream of the incredible soundscapes from our Sri Lankan 'fishing hut' in the evenings...the roar of the indian Ocean, the wind rustling through the thatched roof and every creature imaginable singing at the top of their voice...I wish someone would record those sounds & put them on a CD! We stayed in the Tulip Hut, which is on the beach at Palagama, for the first 5 days of our Honeymoon in November, so we caught the end of the Monsoon season, which meant rather blustery weather, but it didn't matter. Watching the sunset from the infinity pool while it lashed rain, with the most spectacular thunder & lightning storm above the Indian coastline was unforgettable. The ayurvedic massages were the perfect remedy after 24 hours of travelling & we still use the delicious curry & hopper recipies from the cookery classes we took with the restaurant's chef. This was all topped off with the outstanding service we received from our hosts, Naria & Alberto.

The previous comments mentioning the cleanliness of the beach seem a little short-sighted, as this is a global environmental issue affecting most of the Indian & Sri lankan coastlines & it would be impossible for one small resort to change the increasing amount of pollution of the seas & what gets washed up in the Monsoons. The staff from several resorts around Palagama are very proactive & regularly clean the beach.Perhaps the net could be cast a little wider, with the resorts playing an active role in the community and funding local initiatives to promote recycling & responsible waste management (I didn't see any recycle bins at any of the resorts in the area, despite the Eco-friendly vibes).

All in all, it's an incredible place, well of the beaten track & worth the hassle of getting to...we hope to be back soon!

We stayed here over Christmas, at the start of our month-long trip to Sri Lanka, and it was pretty much perfect: a gorgeous cabana (Lily), the beautiful pool and the beach just steps away, and great food. What really made our stay, though, was the thoughtful, friendly service of everyone at Palagama: we felt so well looked after, and our experience there really set the standard for the rest of our trip. We would go back in a flash!

We stayed at Palagama Beach resort on the last day of our holiday in Sri Lanka and it was an absolutely amazing experience. We were travelling as a family and stayed in Villa Walauwa which was lovely, private and very comfortable for our group of 4 including a 5 year old. The grounds of the resort are very well kept and the infinity pool overlooking the sea is pure bliss. You could spend an entire day in the cabanas surrounding the pool with frequent swims, beers and food in between. The resort organises a Dolphin watching boat trip which was nice as we got to see hundreds of dolphins which I would very highly recommend to do. The staff of the resort from Farhan, Denzil etc. were very hospitable and always keen to help with a smile.
Overall we had a very relaxing time here and hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: Villa Walauwa is excellent if travelling in a family/group/kids

Our family of 4 stayed 7 nights at Palagama Beach and had the most fantastic time in this Paradise. We absolutely loved it all - the cozy and beautiful cabanas, the amazing infinity pool, the relaxing and barefoot atmosphere, the homemade food, heaps of dolphins and last but not least the lovely staff. You made this years christmas very special and one we will never forget. Thank you so much, all of you! We cant wait to come back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rosa Cabana, which is perfect for a family of 3.

This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy fine things. The beach cabana we stayed in was really special. Comfortable, clean and unique. The outdoor shower was a nice touch and the feeling of privacy around the resort was very nicely achieved.
Most days hundreds of dolphins can be seen on the dolphin watching trip.

We spent the last three nights of our holiday at Palagama beach and had a truly wonderful time. Our Cabana (Saffron) was bliss and flopping between the pool and the beach was a real pleasure. The staff couldnt have been nicer and attended to our every need. I really hope to get back to Palagama very soon.
