The area is ideal for varied excursions. We were in the jungle with the Orang Asli, the indigenous people, and it was very adventurous and exciting and memorable.

The Roots was just a dream, everything here has just voted. Accommodation, beds and other Bedding and entertainment were fabulous. We will definitely go back there, it was a dream.
In the preparation of the food, the staff were very flexible and accommodating. It exceeded our needs and expectations. Absolute top class! Thank you!

The Roots offers many child-friendly facilities, so that the little ones enjoy the holidays are so great. Thanks to all employees of The Roots Eco Resort.

Room Tip: There are different categories, but it doesn't matter where you sleep. We can not say anything about the other rooms, but ours were tidy and we slept very well. The statements of the other guests have confirmed our experiences.

Fantastic, charming and memorable place to escape from cities and relax.
And yet very clean rooms and environment.
very helpful and friendly staffs.
And select the rooms with Jacuzzi.

However I think the bed is not very well performed, and they can use more beautiful colored cover for the mattress, to match better with the environment and room

Room Tip: Rooms with Jacuzzi are perfect

The Roots Eco resort is located approx 20 minutes from the town of Ipoh which consist of various villa built by the Kinta River.

All the villas are built cabin style with wooden flooring, walls and roof that were made from dried palm leaves. That being said some modern luxury or necessity are still available such as flushing toilets, hot water, air-conditioning, refrigerator, kettle and flat screen tv for all you city slickers.

The room is generally clean and all electrical equipments functioned well. There were sufficient power points to accomodate all four of us that stayed in the River Villa. However, there are quite a fair bit of bugs and creepy crawlies around the resort, not that it bothered me and should also be expected given that this is an eco resort. Please packed some insect repellant and don't leave food out in the open for too long and you should be fine.

There is also a swimming pool for both adults and kids with a couple of deck chairs which is an added bonus on a really hot day. Apart from that expect to find a couple of parrots, turkey, Quentin the friendly Doberman, ATVs for rent.

There isn't much to do around here unless you sign up for guided treks where you can visit the orang Asli so if you're looking to party etc. This is not it. However if you're looking for peace and tranquility surrounded by nature then you have found the right place.

There are food available and they are able to prepare BBQ dinner for you at a fee (slightly expensive in my opinion and they will charge corkage for most things (i.e alcohol, own food & drinks) if you bring it to the pool, gazebo or restaurants). However, since it is not too far off from Ipoh town, you opt to have your meals in Ipoh. Breakfast is provided, simple fare but one of the freshest I've tasted.

The Eco Resort is located in a gated compound which means that you will have to ring a doorbell to gain access everytime you drive out which may seem like a hassle but for me it gave me more security and therefore families should feel pretty safe letting their kids wander around since there is some form of security.

Overall, value for money. Pack some insect repellant, card and board games, friends and family and you're good to go.

First off, its definitely for those who love nature. Secondly, it's for those who love animals! Quentin the dog, vodka and whiskey are the cats that runs around the place freely. The 3 of them are best friends so to speak. There are some turkeys but they are inside a big cage and birds as well.
I stayed in orchard honeymoon room and the room is lovely. The bathroom is open air concept where there is no roof (of course there's walls) which is pretty nice. And of course you have your own jacuzzi on the balcony. You have to clean it first before using as it can be a little dirty because of dried/dead leave and bugs. Let the water run for a bit before you start using the jacuzzi. Once you are inside the tub, dream away while looking at the green field, trees and river.
Do bring mozzies repellent if you plan to hang around outside your room/cafe area. However inside the room you can forget the repellent. There's also hammocks nearby the cafe and for my room, it came with 2 swings chair thing on the balcony for you to sit and enjoy the view.
So for those who are allergic to animals fur, please prepare your meds. Other than that, perfect place for a short getaway from the bustling city. Also for those who plan to take the train there, just get a ticket that says tanjung rambutan. The train station is approximately 500meters away from this place and nearby the station there is a 24 hours convenient store.
