“Very good location and accomodating Owner!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

My daughter and I stayed here in March. Unknown to us, the "season" doesn't really get going until 1 May. We were a bit disappointed at first, as we intended to rent a boat, ride motor scooters, and things of that nature. Not to fear as Spiro, the resort owner, took good care of us. He arranged a boat and a motor bike for us - from shops that were closed. No thing was too much for him to do, and he was a helpful and gracious host. It had been raining, and it messed up some of the phone lines, messing up Internet service to his many rooms (28 of them!). Spiro did not miss a beat, and invited us into his home, where his service was still working!!!!

The resort is a grand layout of things to do. It is on the hill, about a 5 minute walk from town. If you want to rent a car, the resort has vehicles to rent, so there is no need to rent a car, then pay the ferry charges to get it to the island. The resort will also make arrangements to pick you up at the ferry (either from Igoumenitsa or Corfu).

Our room was the budget room, but was still well-appointed, coming with a kitchenette (why cook, when you have wonderful bakeries just a 5 minute walk away?), as well as a washer. The resort has many amenities for guests (pool, wifi, etc.).

I intend to come back to Paxi/Paxos, and would definitely stay here, again.

We arrived at The Pacos Resort Hotel in a complimentary Taxi and shown to a lovely room overlooking the olive groves. The room was very clean and had everything we needed for the duration of our stay including a washing machine. The Pool was fantastic, really big and there are places to sit in the shade. Whilst we were in Paxos it rained very hard for the time of year to the point we were unable to leave the resort due to heavy thunder and lightening (unusual for this time of year). Spiro, his wife and the Staff at the Paco Resort ensured we were looked after and gave us food and water. They were so kind and we were very grateful for this. I would highly recommend this hotel to visitors staying in Paxos its close to the port and tavernas and is everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Let me start off with the positives: blood on the toilet seat, leaking toilet, dirty sheets and towels, irresolute shower valve - one minute scalding hot water next cold, noisy water pump which seemed to switch on and off at will throughout the night, non existent wifi and tv but advertised as free, breakfast ordered on the terrace but found a collection of boiled eggs and some sad looking croissants in a basket left on the kitchen cable.

The agent agreed a rate of €300 for the villa which in itself is incredibly expensive but on arrival the owner insisted we should pay €350. Needless to say, we checked out first thing the following morning and found something much cheaper and far more charming.

The point is that even if the owner decides to fix the issues we experienced with the sheets and a leaky toilet, Paco's Resort has cut so many corners and developed this place in such a befuddled way that it can never be right and its a shame as the sum of everything which is Paco's Resort, from the marble to the mortar is a comprehensive let down.

Funny architecture, cable wont work, dirty sheets, pubic hair in the bathroom, very expensive. Visit and get a taste on your own? However the water is great and the soft drinks too

I wouldntvisit again.. Perhaps if i paid one fifth of the price i paid

Arrived at Gaios on the hydrofoil at Corfu, the staff at Pacos arranged the tickets for us and had a warm welcome from Christina who picked us up from the port. We stayed in the golden luxury apartment and as it was our honeymoon walked into the apartment to be greeted by a bottle of champagne cooling, fresh flowers, fresh fruit and a beautiful rose on the bed! A wonderful start to our stay! The views were amazing and the apartment was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was delivered every morning on our balcony in a basket full of fresh pastries. Christina and the other staff were helpful during our stay. There are 2 pools, both stunning and relaxing. We requested a BBQ and it was no trouble for the staff to bring it up to our veranda. My only advise is if you are staying in the golden apartments it is quite a walk up but well worth it for the views or you could always order a taxi with Nickos who will drive you straight to your door! It's a 10 min stroll into Gaois centre.
We will definitely be returning here, maybe we will stay in the "boat" next time which is in the process of being built!

The hotel/appartment Pacos is one of the most memorable hotels I've ever been!
Where should start...??
From the breathtaking view that all the apartments enjoy? From the wonderfully build and equipped apartments ? Or from the awesome pool and outdoor facillities ?
The only slight drawback was the narrow road leading to the hotel.
Nevertheless, I would greatly recommend it to anyone who visits Paxos.

From start to finish, Stavro the owner couldn't do enough to make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. We found the accommodation by going to ownersdirect.com, under ref: GR1405. As he spoke English we were able to communicate really well over the internet and he helped with booking the hydrofoil from Corfu and arranged to meet us at the port of Gaios, Paxos.
The complex of marble clad apartments is situated on a hill, on the outskirts of Gaios and takes about 3 minutes to walk to the harbour. Our apartment over looked the main pool and so we were able to sit out on our patio while watching the children play in the pool.
What was different to most self catering apartments we've been to is that a continental breakfast is delivered to your door every morning, consisting of things like fresh bread, pastries, cereal, milk, cakes, butter and jam etc. We were also given plenty of bottled drinking water everyday and the room was kept spotlessly clean with regular linen and towel changes.
Stavro helped us on many occasions to get the most out of our holiday by getting the best possible deal when hiring a car and he recommended lots of restaurants around the island.
Places we all loved were Harami beach at Lakka (15 mins/ 8km by car) and Vrika beach on Anti Paxos (30 min boat ride). Go to Spiros Taverna for a real treat.
Paxos is a small unspoilt island with tourist mainly from Italy, Greece and England. This island has escaped the main package holiday companies and is ideal for those people who want to discover what's left of real Greece.
