Il Posto Giusto is one of my favorite local watering holes tucked away by the "Montepower" petrol station and at the Montevecchia "Quattro Strade" cross roads, its on the provincial thoroughfare between Merate and Besana and since it's at the foot of the imposing Montevecchia hill with the white monastery chapel on the top of it, you can't miss it if you happen to be in the area. Posto Giusto used to be a typical "bar/pasticceria" (cake shop) until Pietro arrived from his native Piedmonte, bringing with him their intrinsic love and understanding of good food and wine. The result is "Posto Giusto" or "The Right Place" in English. He has a knack of selecting some great wines that are also offered by the glass and if the one you fancy is not open it soon will be. There is a braod selection of Italian wines, from Alto Adige in the north to Sicily at the tip and if you can't find one here you that you like then you might as well give up drinking. Added to that is a great selection of home prepared "apperitivi" dishes to munch on at lunch and in the evening, however be warned that a glass of wine tends to become plural once you get started. If you prefer something even more substantial then other dishes and sandwiches are available so ideal for a "pitstop" quick bite on route.
