An Italian friend of ours recommended this restaurant. I have to say that it is very hard to find since there is no address, but keep following the signs for San Martino. Set about 7 miles up the mountain from Menaggio, there is a gorgeous sunset view of Lake Como. The food is simple and simply made with top-notch ingredients. If you call for reservations they will ask you if how many of the polenta uncia you want to order. It takes a long time to make, so they need numbers before you arrive. I ordered one for every 2 people as a side dish (it is polenta with butter, sage, and cheese in it). The menu only has two of each course (antipasti, primi, secondi), and they are very meat heavy. This is not a restaurant for vegetarians. The cinghiale (wild boar) is wonderful as a primi with pasta. The mixed grill as a second course is really amazing. The wines are decent. We drank a ridiculous amount of wine and ate like horses and it ended up being about 40 euro per person. You can eat for way cheaper (pastas were about 8 euro) if you were not eating like we were. I highly recommend. We live in Italy and it is one of the best meals we have had here.
