“Wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

what a wonderful place to stay away from the hussle and bussel, it was very unexpected to find such a beautiful setting, all the people were very helpful and as our food was included, it was also exceptional. Rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable, the marble pool was cool and inviting after a hot day.

Stayed as a group. We had a large room with a swing! Lovely hot shower but no hairdryer. Very comfortable bed.

Lunch buffet not very hot. Evening meal much better and lots of choice. Very nice garden in inner courtyard. Staff pleasant and helpful.

This is a lovely renovated maharajah's palace. It is near the center of the village of Jojawar, a pleasant agricultural town. Our room and bath were spacious, clean and comfortable. We also had a huge covered patio. Food was excellent, as was the staff. But it was the manager who really stood out as the driving force. Fun diversions such as a train ride and wildlife safari are available. No TV, wifi or safe but they won't be missed. This is a wonderful place. Don't miss it!

Stayed here for one night. Room was a good size and clean. Buffet dinner was available which was ok, and a reasonable price. Very peacefully here. Nice pool and garden area. Staff are very attentive. Head up to the rooftop for a nice view of the village.

We stayed here for one night in September 2013. This is the only hotel in the village and is to a very high standard. The owners grandsons birthday was on the night we stayed and as we were the only guests who weren't part of the family we suspect that someone made a mistake when they took our booking. Having said this the service was unbelievable, we were invited to drinks for the celebration and then served a private dinner by the manager himself as he said the guests satisfaction was priority. We felt the staff went above what was necessary to make our stay great. The room was great, shower was great, bed was great. The only thing to note was being the only hotel, there are limited places for drivers to sleep and ours ended up sleeping in his car as he could not get a guest house, of course this is not necessarily the hotels issue but it is worth mentioning as they could provide basic facilities to alleviate the problem.

Converted section of the local palace, this is a haven from the sights, sounds and smells of Jojawar. Crossing the threshold takes you to a different world.

Rooms were mixed. One of ours had a pointless balcony - no view, no furniture, accessed via the bathroom. The other (a twin room) was much nicer.

Pool was very refreshing on a hot day.

Meals were good - lots of different dishes so something for everyone.

We tried the horse riding. Not great - some of the horses were so skittish their handlers didn't dare let go of the reins. We would rather have walked.

We also went for a train ride. Fabulous old car from the hotel to the station. Wonderful ride with great scenery for an hour or so. Then picked up at the next station by the same car. Well recommended.

Jojawar itself is interesting but par for the course in India towns - very dirty, loads of rubbish. People were very friendly, especially the kids.

Well connected rural village by rail & road, this place is absolutely right place for relaxing. A very well maintained Hotel with a Royal touch. Food served here is very tasty. You have a Bar and swimming pool, what else is required? Hotel staff is very caring and well behaved. Over all experience is wonderful. A must visit place.
