“Aljun Castle”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Ajlun Castle was beautiful. It sits atop a mountain and you can see down into the valleys on all sides. It was an amazing step back in time.

“Wonderful castle, apart from the kids.”
Reviewed August 13, 2013 via mobile

It's a lovely castle on top of the hill in Ajlun. 1JD for tourists, free for residents. The day we visited there were 20 children there. If they were playing I have no problem however they were coming up to myself and other female tourists touching us inappropriately. The local police acted quickly and escorted them out of the castle, and apologized to us. It was a national holiday.

“You are in the Zenith! It's a great feeling and the views worth the long trip.”
Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

Very nice place to go to although the way is tortuous in the mountains and the road that pass in the nearby town is narrowed further by the careless drivers who park their cars in the middle of the narrow street.
You should remember to get a ticket to visit the castle (the main attraction in this area) before ascending the hill up. This is a negative point because definitely it is preferable to put the tickets shop right near the gate.
Enjoy the scenes there. The view from the zenith of the mountain is breathtaking. You can see the towns below, the tops of pine trees and the mountain boundaries of Palestinian areas.
There is a delicious traditional (coal heated) coffee (moderate heaviness), cardamom flavored, and a fresh-mint flavored tea. You shouldn't miss these two drinks (see the photos uploaded).
It's a nice trip.

“Beautiful view”
Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Went to Ajloun to visit the castle. Enjoyed the beautiful view from the top of the castle . But we were unlucky with the weather . It was dusty and couldn't see much. The castle is interesting but it is a pitty the museums located in the castle are neglected and the display is poor. But the castle is historically very important to the region in the time of the crusades. And is a sign to the glory of Salah al Deen the hero who freed Jerusalem from the crusades .

“A must see stop”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Went to Ajlun after visiting Jerash (Roman ruins -- an even greater must see! Some of the best preserved Roman ruins in the world!!). Get the guide at the castle - you will be happy you did - we did not and ended up asking one of the guides a few questions on the way out (we had many). As mentioned in another review he was the archerologist on the castle in the 70's. A delightful man and made the experience a thousand times better. On your way from Jerash stop by for some Shawarma in the town before you get to the castle. Cheap and good!! Super friendly people as well!
