We had a lovely stay at the Hawthorn Villa Stables during our recent trip around Tasmania. Location was fantastic, just a stone's throw from Launceston - it was a very short trip to the farmers' market the next morning which fell nicely into our plans.
The grounds are nothing short of gorgeous as are the apartments and Nicole and Innes were very warm and welcoming. We had everything we needed and the bonus of being able to pick up some fresh chickens' eggs for our breakfast was a delightful little bonus. Booking was incredibly easy, we received a prompt response and was able to check in easily - we didn't know when we would arrive, however we were assured this was not an issue and they were incredibly flexible with us.
Thanks for a great stay guys, we hope to be back and will be recommending friends to stay with you when they visit TAS!

What a beautiful place. Its a National Trust property with the most exquisite gardens surrounding the Stable accommodation. I felt I was in England. The Stables are beautifully renovated. In the loft was a queen size bed and below a well equipped kitchenette . The lounge settee aĺso opens into a comfortable bed. We stayed 2 nights. You can sit inside viewing the gardens or outside amongst the roses lupins fruit trees and more at one of the many tables sipping champagne in the sunshine. Glorious and highly recommended with a "stable " door.

This was my second visit to the Stables. Stayed one night with friends from overseas. The Stables have been built to look like they are historical - but inside they are very well appointed. The gardens are amazing featuring in Homes & Garden recently and on display to the public via the Open Garden Scheme. The kitchens are small encouraging you to eat out but everything we needed for an antipasto feast was there! Once again a great overnight stay which I could recommend to any visitors.

Room Tip: All units are good - they just vary in size.....

We made a booking via email in February 2015 for August 2015 specifically booking villa with double bed downstairs as we were travelling with my mother. When my mother arrived they had no record of the booking, tried to offer a villa with single bed but that wasn't suitable for us. Not very helpfully offering alternatives, but mentioned Westbury Gingerbread Cottages it was only 10 minutes away, which turned out much more suitable for us. Would stay in Westbury and recommend the Gingerbread Cottages again!

We have recently had a 3 night stay at Hawthorn Villa Stables and it was fantastic! The 4 Stables are quirky self-contained rooms with every comfort you may need. As we were out touring all day, every day of our stay, it was great to come home to a most comfortable room with a fabulous modern bathroom with the thickest, thirstiest towels and nice amenities.
The coffee plunger with ground coffee, the selection of wine glasses & plates & platters for our cheese, fruit pastes & wine in the evening were great.
The jewel in the crown however, was the magnificent gardens surrounding the Villa and the Stables which you are free to roam in at your pleasure. The BBQ & outdoor seating is all provided however, it was too wet for us to take advantage of this time.
Nicole & Innes are most gracious & welcoming hosts.
This is definitely a place to base yourself at while exploring Launcestion, Tamar Valley, Devonport, Burnie, Mole Creek and Cradle Mountain. It is central to all these as well as the heritage spots of Brickendon, Woolmers Estate and the historic town of Evandale.
Don't hesitate to stay.
