Poldark Inn gets a mixed review. The people are very nice and the food quite good, but the physical aspects are just average. Starting with the physical, it is a large inn which is a pub, dining, and reception room downstairs and lodging rooms upstairs. Our room was adequate with a perhaps too firm bed, and cabinet with a door that looked like someone punched. Bathroom was fine except no shower. A shared shower was down the hall, but it sure was a great shower, hot and lots of pressure, functionally the best on our trip if not the prettiest. There is a farm next door and you might need earplugs or keep certain windows closed since I was woken up early by barking dogs. The sheep are fun to see and hear during the day. The rest of the room was fine. Breakfast was really good with lots of cereal, eggs, nicely done mushrooms, and really tasty, thick, chewy sausage which I liked a great deal. Wireless internet was spotty but I finally got the hang of it or it started to work better. Location was central to many things like Tintagel and Port Isaac but still approx five miles away. Some huge wind turbines were nearby which I always think are so amazing and majestic. The people are very nice including Sarah, Tracy, Marisa, and all the others who bring Poldark up to a four.

A good value B&B thats clean, friendly and in a good location for coastal walks and good beaches. Some updating would be of benefit but did not spoil our stay and we felt reflected in the price. Breakfast was traditional English but all requests were attempted to be dealt with by pleasant staff. The inn was pleasant with friendly locals that made our stay all the more enjoyable.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Poldark Inn, which we booked rather at the last minute needing somewhere near Camelford for an event. We often make short visits to Cornwall and are aware that some places can be very expensive for short stays, especially if travelling with a child, so we were especially pleased to find somewhere child-friendly and affordable. Our room was large, with a sea view (weather permitting). Yes, the decor and carpets &c are quite old-fashioned, but so what - everything was clean, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night with no traffic noise - only the occasional sheep and cockerel in the distance. The food is good and the bar staff were friendly and helpful (even producing something our son requested that was not actually on the children's menu). The inn is close to Boscastle, Tintagel, and Port Isaac, with Bude and its sandy beach not far away, and Trebarwith which is in walking distance (sensible footwear needed for the wet path due to the poor summer). We hope to be back!

Needs a lot of up-dating as carpet in bedroom and bathroom looks very old(1970's), was not cleaned all the time we were there and we had our dog with us. No clean towels ,had the same ones for three days.
Needs complete updating on the rooms furniture, windows and curtains all very 70's.
Otherwise, food was very good and bar staff were very friendly.

We stayed at the Poldark Inn last week and found the bedroom and bathroom to be very clean, and the staff very friendly. Yes, the place is in need of a fairly major update, but this refelcted in the room rates - £65 per night in mid-August - pretty hard to beat! Close to Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac so very handy.

We came down from Manchester to visit family we hadn't seen for 8 years, spend time with one of our good friends and also to take part in the Plymouth Mega Bike Run (Charity event). We were booked to stay in one of the self catering apartments and at the last minute we decided to stay an extra day. This was not a problem it was all sorted out for us before we even got there. The apartment was a great size, set out really well and contained fridge, oven, microwave, washing machine etc. Everything you could need is there. The owners are very friendly, the food is fantastic. We will definitely be staying here again.

Stayed last week!! And I can happily say it really was good value for money!

Location is very close to various attractions in the area, peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside and views across the fields to the sea.

Rooms are very comfortable and warm; Staff very friendly, food was excellent.
Highly I recommend this place and will return for sure.
