We stayed here for a night with our 9 month old baby and they couldn't be more accommodating! They arranged a baby bath tub in our room, cot and highchair too. Willy and Yiyi were very friendly too and even cooked me a special Burmese dish when I mentioned how I loved Burmese food. The breakfast was fabulous and you could also order cooked eggs, bacon etc in addition to the sumptuous platter of cheeses, fruit salad, yoghurt, etc. Food at their restaurant was also good.

There was a helpful walking route map in the room too and we were able to look around the quaint and picturesque village before heading off. Whilst it was a bit cold for us to swim, their pool and patio were very inviting and everything was tastefully decorated.

We stayed at 4 hotels in Cyprus and Apokryfo was def the best one! It's definitely one of my favourite b&b s
- More of a boutique hotel to be honest!!

We probably won't return to Cyprus as a whole though (nice enough buy we've seen much nicer islands/destinations) and if we do, we would probably just go to northern Cyprus but shall miss Apokryfo and their staff.

If you do go to Cyprus, go to the Troodos mountains and to Lofou after visiting the Kykkos monastry. Much more worth it than Larnaca or Paphos!

We wanted dinner on Christmas Eve in a special place and certainly found it at Apokryfo! Marvellous food, excellent service & exquisite decor. Would certainly go back.

Apokyrfo is a hidden gem. Framed by the Troodos mountains it has a magical feel to it. The accommodations are sympathetically and tastefully converted from the old village houses and stunning. You just want to move in! The food is Cypriot but with a gourmet twist and satisfied our epicurean desires. Athonis, the delightful chef and his lovely staff could not be more helpful. We have been on numerous occasions now, and always, it is a pleasure. We look forward to our next visit. Go for lunch or dinner, if you cannot stay, you will not be disappointed!

I almost don't want to write about Apokryfo such that it stays a secret that only a few can share... I have been wanting to visit for a while and now that I have I am looking for the next possible weekend to escape there... It is tranquil, it is unique, it's detail is perfection, the staff are fabulous... You can visit alone and simply relax, read, enjoy the view, the food, the ambiance and certainly with a loved one to share all the above and more... Go there but only tell your best friends...

The perfect place to retreat after exploring this beautiful island - the coast and the mountains are all within easy reach. We plan to return with friends and relatives to this paradise in clear mountain air and are also considering a 'blue-sky thinking' conference for our London staff at Apokryfo. The concept is brilliant and we were delighted with the food and service. This fulfils Nietzche's challenge that if you can't make your ideal a reality then you should make your reality ideal.

After several recommendations from colleagues and friends, my partner and I decided to book a night with friends at Apokryfo. After enjoying the breathtaking views from the mountain winding roads leading up to the village, we arrived and were warmly welcomed by the owner Marios and his staff, who showed us to our rooms and gave us a tour of this unique hideaway.

The design and concept of Apokryfo is remarkable. Every room has been carefully designed and furnished in a way that feels very old and traditional, yet is new and modern. The rooms were spotless, well equipped with very comfortable beds, air-conditioning and fan and TV with DVD player. The hotel also has a small spa and steam room, which we didn’t get the chance to use this time but added to the relaxing atmosphere.

As we were only staying for one evening, we chose to stay at the hotel for both lunch and dinner, which were served outside next to the pool. Each meal was traditionally Cypriot with plenty of salad, pitta bread and grilled meats and everything was fresh and very tasty. Marios did let us know that the village had 2 small restaurants open in the evening but we decided to stay and enjoy the experience at the hotel.

During the day we enjoyed the pool with waterfall and sat with the shade of the trees enjoying the view. During the evening we watched a movie on the large outdoor screen during dinner and enjoyed the wine and soothing music well into the early hours. As the hotel contains only 15 rooms and wasn’t fully booked when we stayed, we actually felt as if we had the place to ourselves and enjoyed several hours of privacy at the poolside.

The location of Apokryfo is idyllic. The views of the mountains are amazing and the local village with cobbled streets and stone buildings is like stepping back in time. The village has very little in terms of shopping facilities but there are other villages nearby if you need to visit a small supermarket during your stay. This is a great base for exploring the Troodos mountains and the surrounding area.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wished we had booked to stay for longer. Whether it’s a day or a week of total relaxation you require, this is the perfect setting. We are lucky enough to have stayed a number of good quality hotels whilst in Cyprus but this definitely stands out as our favourite and exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience the beauty and nature of Cyprus at any time of the year. We will be back again.
