We rented both the lodge and the barn for New Years Eve. Jacinta is a great host and was always friendly and accommodating no matter what the request.
We were a group of 11 friends looking for something different for New Years Eve. The accomodation was spotlessly clean with everything you could need- the welcome basket on arrival was a lovely touch. The Barn had the more spacious living accomodation so we used this as the place for everho e to relax. Jacinta helped us with arranging taxis into Multyfarham for the night-highly recommend Ryan's taxi service, prompt and cost less than €10 each return.
Our only tiny issue was the lack of signage to the accomodation. There is a hugely impressive driveway but it could do with some sign posting to the accom. Ensure you get directions from Jacinta before you get there!
Would highly recommend Lakelodges and look forward to coming back again.
We booked both the Lodge and the Barn as a group of 6 adults, 3 childred and a dog. It was perfect. Right on the edge of a forest and a lake with lovely walks it was perfect for us. We awoke the first morning to a very heavy frost which transformed the place into a winter wonderland, so Christmasy and beautiful. We used the barn as our base for dining as it had a huge open plan sitting/dining room area where we could all eat comfortably. It is very well equipped, comfortable and cosy. The Lodge has a woodburner which was well used during our stay. The owner lives closeby but we didnt need to disturb her during our stay as we were very well provided for. A welcome pack was available on arrival and a lovely bottle of champagne for one of the group who celebrated her 60th birthday during our stay. We ate out one night in Weirs bar in Multyfarnham which was excellent. Mullingar is a lovely town, bustling and with lots of interesting shops. The walks aroung Lake Lodge are great. Must be wonderful in summertime. Would really recommended this place, a lovely little forest retreat.
Myself and my five children stayed in The Barn during August 2017. We had a wonderful time. They loved the accommodation, especially the indoor swing and toy room upstairs! We had great fun exploring the forest and lake. Jacinta a wonderful hostess. We will definitely make a return visit!
Lake Lodge's Barn is a modern, super comfortable lodge, from the beds to the couch and chairs. It's so cozy and comfortable you'll want to stay forever! It feels right and fosters a sense of relaxation, escape, and peace. Jacinta is a most gracious and super accommodating hostess. Lake Lodge is shrouded by plush green environs, surrounded with enchanting forest lands and nature paths. Even the cows are there to greet you just inside the start of the private driveway. Further down past the lodge is completely private lake access with eagles soaring over the splendid pasture lands, near the shores of the crystal waters of Lough Owel. Nearby Multyfarnham is a beautiful, quaint, picturesque and idyllic Irish village with a family of residents waiting to embrace you. Also, there's great shopping in nearby Mullingar. From the excellent and friendly Weirs pub to the medieval Franciscan Friary, your second and true home awaits you in Multyfarnham. Additionally Tormeys bar is also very close, just up N4, with a true gentleman proprietor waiting to greet you. Overall a true gem of a property, rental experience and stay. The peaceful escape of pure nature, but plenty of amenities within minutes. Totally worth it! We can't wait to return! Your second and true home awaits you!
We spent a relaxing week at the Lake Lodge enjoying the peace and quiet and long walks with the dogs. The surroundings are scenic and tranquil and the lodge was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. A great base for visiting Athlone and Galway, with the town of Mullingar only five minutes drive away. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the only downside was the poor wifi, but it's to be expected when your down a country lane. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here if you are looking to get away from the stresses of everyday life.
VERY, VERY disappointing!
So much so that my daughter and family left the premises and booked in to a local hotel for part of their planned stay.
The owner, Jacinta, refunded only a small portion of the rental fee but I will NOT be going back there again.
We had a family birthday and took both the lodge and the barn for 2 nights. Jacinta was very helpful with information before we arrived. We relaxed, barbecued, went for walks on the private grounds and the beautiful moss carpeted wood and the kids jumped off the private peer (100m from the lodge) and swam in the lake.
Would definitely recommend this place.
