Heard this place recommended by Paulo tuilli and decided to take the spin out from Mullingar.. I was greeted by a sign saying they served irish craft beer which immediately made me happy.. You enter through an old school bar, hich still has hand pump taps through this to a large dining area with a fire roaring at the back..the owner was straight over to greet us nd told us to take any table. I had a smoked mackerel salad which is smoked in house . very simple but bursting with flavour. Mains was beer battered cod and my wife had the homemade burger..the fish was super fresh which surprised me being In the Midlands and the batter was light and crispy. The burger was big and juicy and had some lovely local rashers on it.. The deserts were all homemade and all old school.. Bread and butter pudding and the sticky toffee pudding is worth the trip alone.. Throughout the meal the service was top notch and full of conversation.. Delighted I found this hidden gem

Weirs is just one of those places you feel at home a lovely open fire , good food , friendly staff and a great pint of guinness , We brought our newborn last Sunday and there was no problem , we got a spot in grannys kitchen in case he started crying , I got the lamb and my wife had the chicken , topped off with bread and butter pudding , what a great way to spend a Sunday evening.

after a recommendation we visited Weirs bar in Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath for some Saturday evening food.
The fillet steaks were excellent quality the best we have tasted in years and cooked exactly to our liking. Lovely turf fire burning to set a real warm country pub feeling and friendly helpful staff..
deserts are homemade and we shared a sticky toffee pudding,, scrumptious
