We stayed at Lough Bawn in October 2012. We found it a little hard to find in the dark and it was getting a bit tense and stressful in the car but once we arrived Verity was so kind and provided us with tea and cake in front of a roaring fire. We had our own large lounge to relax in. Breakfasts were completely yum, and perfect. I could have sat eating, relaxing and looking at the most wonderful view all morning. The bedroom was warm, attractive, spacious, and clean. I am looking forward to returning to Lough Bawn House. Verity has a very natural warmth.

Titled Two Gems for a very good reason. The property is what many would call a manageable Georgian House, set on a tall hill side at the end of a lovely avenue. It reminded me of my own family home and brought back some wonderful memories. There is space here, so much room, surrounded by old park land, grazing cattle, a walled in garden, a ha-ha. There could almost be the the sound of laughter and ball on racket from a grass tennis court. Fanciful I know but such are memories.

The second 'Gem' is Verity the owner. She has such warmth of welcome, a clearly talented lady in both her interior design of her rooms and equally so in her ability to feed her guests with a most delicious choice of menu. I need say little more than to point out that I have stayed at Verity's lovely house twice now and will do so again. May I suggest you do too?

Room Tip: One facing south or west.

A Fabulous country house, with spectacular lake views. Newly renovated to a very high standard. Verity, the lady whom owns it was absolutely wonderful and welcoming. As a quailified Chef, it really showed in the Breakfast, hot and delicious. Room was spotless with lovely fresh soaps and towels. Nice, Bright and cheery, it really is a hidden treasure on the shore of lough bawn. I would definitly recommend Lough Bawn House and i will be sure to visit again.
