“Restaurant is well worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013

Myself and two friends dined here on 25 May and enjoyed a delicious meal with excellent service that was very good value. This hotel restaurant is well worth a visit. The staff were very helpful and did not rush us even though we stayed later than planned.

A great place to have any special occasion in Templemore. Food is always good and staff are always willing to help. Great atmosphere inside and child friendly. Place is very clean. A great place to go in and have a meal or to simply have a pot of tea during a chat with friends and family.

Great value, a deal of €100 Euros a night includes a full Irish Breakfast, fruit salad, yogurt, tea, coffee etc and a three course evening meal including wine. Great location and staff couldn't be friendlier and more accommodating.

Having stayed here numerous times I would highly recommend this wonderful gem in the heart of tipperary. The food is truly fantastic and a real value for money. The staff really treat you like family and no request goes without completion. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable no complaints there. The nightclub and the ever popular "old arms" never failed to bring a croud and a fantastic night is always a guarantee. Dan and Julianne Ward really run a fantastic hotel. Really worth a visit.

I have never stayed at this hotel which is located on the main street in Templemore however I've eaten here on many occasions. There is ample parking in the square outside the hotel however a parking ticket system is in operation. This hotel is wheelchair friendly and child friendly. The staff in the hotel are lovely and Catherine who I've met at the reception is very helpful, approachable and puts guests at ease. Dan, the owner, always always takes the time to make sure each of his customers are happy and want for nothing. You don't get that attention in most establishments. The food is always of very good quality and the proportions are satisfying. Desserts are mouthwatering. Other reviewers have said that the food served is very homely however I've found that although the menu is not always exotic it is cooked to perfection and plated well. The hotel bar and restaurant can be very busy at times and the last time I was there it was a bit messy because of the volume of customers. The furnishings of the hotel are tired and a little outdated and could do with being changed. I think the hotel would attract more customers if it was revamped a little. I will definitely be back to eat there again. It really is a good place to eat, drink and relax.

We were over visiting family and popped into the Arms for an early evening meal.

There was a wedding going on however the bar didn't look busy so we decided to have a meal in the front bar. We started by getting a round of drinks in only to be told that there was a live band playing so if we wanted to eat we would have to move.

We finally settled in the back bar and looked at the menu to decide what to eat. The Templemore Arms is a family owned and managed establishment and the menu reflected this.

The menu was basic and as such we chose 2 x Lamb Cutlets and 2 x Grilled Salmon. The food was presented in a homely manner and was hot and plentiful. The accompanying sides of chips, salad and veg made it a large portion for all of us.

We decided not to opt for a pudding as the band was in full swing, but overall we were extremely happy with the meal that we had and the service.

It is 6 months since we stayed at the 'Arms' and I am still telling everyone about it. All the staff, without exception, treated us as old friends, and after the week we had, we certainly felt like it. The food was great, the room was very comfortable and we returned after a couple of weeks site-seeing for a night to be warmly welcomed back. I can't speak highly enough about it. This is not a snooty high rise but a warm friendly experience.Love it.

Room Tip: We did find the duvets too hot for summer. BUT it was the same all over Ireland. No-one is going to...
