We stayed here our first 3 nights in Ireland. It was an ideal location for visiting Dublin, Newgrange, Hill of Slane, Mellifont Abbey, etc. The couple who owned Flemingtown House were very hospitable and friendly. The food was good, although not homemade. Still our overall stay was very positive and I would recommend it. The only negative was that it was a little difficult to locate because the hedges had grown up over the road signs. Once we found it, however, we loved it there. It is a horse farm and the horses are beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay at Flemingtown House. Kay is a terrific hostess and cook - and her husband, Richard, is right there helping. A great couple, very friendly. It's a very large house, so you don't feel like you're intruding. Loved the lounge and the pool table! And seeing thoroughbred horses out the window is a real plus.
One suggestion -- they could use bigger signs directing wayward guests who get lost easily ... lol

I stayed at Flemingtown House for the first night, and the last night of my trip. It is very nicely located near the airport, and also near some of the best sightseeing we saw in Ireland (recommended by Kay & Mike, the B&B owners). The breakfast was great, served in a very classy dining room. Our room was spacious, and had a gorgeous view of the horses and sheep outside. It was lovely! The other guest rooms are also nicely spaced out, so we didn't have to tiptoe around worrying about disturbing other guests. Kay and Mike are very warm and welcoming, making us feel very much at home. This was by far the best B&B we stayed at on our trip! Thank you!

My husband and I spent two nights at Flemingtown house and have nothing but praise. First of all, the place is just beautiful, it's a racehorse farm surrounded by other farms. The interior is quite pretty as well. Our welcome was warm and our room was comfortable and cozy. Michael is an excellent cook, probably one of the best traditional irish breakfasts we had anywhere in Ireland. I particulary liked the huge coffee/cappuccino/tea and biscuit selection available at all times in a help-yourself area. Kate and Michael were helpful and knowledgeable in recommending places to eat and other tips. Our every need was met with a warm smile. We will be booking here again on our next trip to Meath.

My collegue and I have stayed at FH twice before, the rooms are spacious and furnished in keeping with lovely old furniture, from our room window you look out onto paddocks with mares and foals and sheep in them. You always get a very warm welcome from Kath and her husband. Breakfast is very good with a selection of cereals, yogurts, fruit juice etc. and a full Irish breakfast, if you can eat it you can have 2 eggs, 2 saus, black and white pudding(delicious), baco , mushrooma and beans, believe me this takes some getting through. There is toast (as much as you want) and tea and coffee. Although we went at the end of May it was a cold wet weekend and we had been at a Horse Trials all day, when we got back to FH the heating was on it was just what we needed. There are tea and coffee making facilities in a room just off the entrance hall that are available 24/7 and always a homemade fruit cake or muffins to help yourself to. If you are viisting Tattersalls Sales or Fairyhouse racecourse it is about 10 minutes away, it`s ideal although you would need a car. 5 minutes away in Ratoath there are 3 restaurants all very good. This is not a 5 star hotel but a very comfortable country house B&B and is very good value.

My husband and I stayed at Flemingtown House in March of this year (2009). We so much enjoyed our visit there -- the house is large but comfortable, our room was spacious and comfortably furnished. The best part was our hosts -- Kay and Mike are down to earth, warm and friendly people. We felt right at home there, and as a horse lover, I also loved seeing the mares and their foals in the paddocks.
The location of Flemingtown House is excellent; although it's in a country setting, it's very close to Dublin, so perfect when arriving or leaving Dublin airport.
We would love to be able to enjoy another stay there, and will if possible.

Our party of four arrived at Bayside just before dinner time, therefore were in need of recommendations for a restaurant for supper. We were directed to a binder of local establishments, from which we chose the County Club, which eventually was recommended by the son of the owner(?). Flemingtown House was Large. I'm not sure how many rooms they had altogether, but it was quite vast. I felt less homey here than I did anywhere else we stayed on our B&B route. This was far more hotel-like than the other more comfortable B&Bs. While there was really nothing to complain about, there was nothing spectacular either. A respectable and convenient location for visiting Newgrange and environs certainly.
